Why Sydneysiders should support the Roosters

You'd think Sydney would rally around the Roosters this weekend – especially when you consider the three remaining teams are from interstate – but that doesn't appear to be the case.

You would only think that if you knew nothing about Rugby League in Sydney

I've lived in Sydney all my life and out of the four teams.i would like to see Easts knocked out before any of the interstate teams. And that's saying something as I don't like the Broncos or Melbourne.
Unlikely..but I'd like to see the Cows go all the way.

Rorters fans and members eh? How many of those are there? There might be more Cowboys supporters than Rorters fans there at Allianz.
Might be as embarrassing as GWS Giants crowd last weekend.

This is hilarious, the most powerful club in sydney begging for people to show up to their games. The roosters are a club that has never been popular, and no amount of winning will ever make them popular.
Sounds like a case for forced relocation to me…...

If this is the reaction from the Tigers fans imagine the reaction from the Souths fans

No way could I bring myself to supporting the roosters.

They should move them to Mt Isa. Problem solved, another Qld, 1 less Sydney team.

Its the NRL=National Rugby League=good luck to all the finalists,if the Roosters lose and one of the other teams win, thats fine by me,hopefully Rugby League will come out the winner overall…

who will I support through the finals campaign=Cowboys, because they have done really well in the absence of their main playmaker these last few games and have been quite resilient in their efforts to win games....once again good luck to all.....

Roosters own fans struggle to support them, what chance have they got of getting support from other teams members.

I'm supporting whoever playing the cocks.

As far as I am concerned the Chooks as a club are at the same level Manly were in the 70s and 80s and that is as low as you can get. I would not go out and support them even if Uncle Nick offered me a seat in the City Ford private box.

Love to see them flogged, but even with bugger all support they will win this weekend. Week off up against a team that must be close to physical burn out will probably see a comfortable win for the Bondi low life

I like to see them do well only because poor Mitch Pearce copped such a flogging last year re Lassie. I hope Cowboys as Townsville is a lot smaller city than Brissie and Melb. so less cash.

My Aunty asked me last week which Sydney team I would be cheering for with Tigers not in the finals. I said none, I dislike them all immensely.

She asked how that worked, they were other teams from Sydney? I said that's precisely it, there is a local geography involved here, several derbies of sorts that are 100 years old. I hate Roosters, Bulldogs, Parramatta, Dragons, always have, our closest rivals. Cronulla have really soured on me although I was happy enough to see them win a comp for their supporters, I dislike their players and coach. Manly… well no explanation needed. Penrith I don't mind so much, they remind me of the Tigers. Souths are perennial losers and were dumped from the comp but I have some sympathy for them.

The non-Sydney teams I have don't have the same deep or binding feelings. Broncos I'm not a huge fan of but there are way up there doing their own thing. They have their own big catchment, support themselves financially and don't really do much roster raiding down south.

It's like saying Liverpool fans' second team should be Everton because they are in the same city, or Man U and Man City. And of course the reverse is true.

Roosters can go to hell, I love to see them fail any and every year possible.

Absolutely, all you Sydneysiders and NSW supporters should get behind YOUR team!!.
All you Tigers supporters should be cheering on this club too, for Teddy's sake.
They should by default now be your second team.

Go and have a $35 eggs on toast at Double Bay and then jump in your limo and head out and support YOUR local team in your deluxe box.

Pop in at the leagues club on your way home and empty your bank accounts into their pokies, they need your "support" they're struggling.

Your grand final parties should already be booked at Icebergs.
