The Knights have been crap all season and are only now starting to play ok with 3 rounds left - and it's nothing to do with Mason. Ever since we didn't sign him a couple of seasons ago, he has been way overrated by many on here. Our props are heaps better.

And this is a prime example of what should NOT be happening at the club - a player approaching management about recruitment. Robbie should be told - respectfully - that his job is to play and to captain the team. Period.
If he is asked his opinion about a player prospect, then fine. That's different.

I've supported Robbie over all the drama that has been within the club and its cool for him to mention Mason but the club should say no to Mason. We need young players and ideally wingers or centres.

I think you will find it was a sponsor who stopped it , 3 letter sponsor I'm told it topped of the for and against to sign him and if the sponsor never got involved he would have been signed and cheap

Gee some people are not for real .34 and we want to sign him . The horse bolted on big willie about 3 years ago .but come to think of it .he is the kind of player most people in here want .watch somebody post the side for next year with willie in it.

Big Mason might be doing well in another club atm , the minute we sign him up he will end up retiring at our club after joining the injured veterans club we have.
I dont think its a good idea funding any more retirees .. ( On our playing roster ie)

I remember when Lawrence axed Mason when he was at the Cowboys. Was awesome.
We are barely going to lose a player and when we were uninjured this year we were carving the best teams in the comp up. We'll be alright, just gotta have some luck. For 2016 we need to cut a bunch of injury prone players though and sign up some average to good players who are known as durable.

I agree with most things said about Mason but I think these last couple of years under Bennett have changed him for the better. He doesn't appear to be the destabilising influence like his days at the Bulldogs or Rooters.
The only thing that I will say about Mason is that he will come cheap. The nature of the beast when you have a few elite players in the squad taking up 80% of cap space.
Yes, we have tried these types before and have been let down but we don't have too many options. We will go for these types every year unfortunately.
