With Hayne gone is Teddy a chance for Origin?

he could be there or thereabouts in SOO2/3 with 1 or 2 injuries. maybe not at fullback though.

too many variables. hope he has an injury free year regardless 😛ray:

Complete stupidity or not though, the thread is about teddy's chances of origin, and seeing as Laurie picks the team, I'm just saying Laurie would pick Gordon before him

Unless Gordon gets off to an absolute flyer in the first 10 rounds and picks up 7-10 dally m points i doubt he will even be considered let alone picked.

Probably true, but i still think he'll be considered before tedesco, which means tedescos chances for next year are very unlikely

Like phyr3 said, there are to many variables.

Teddy was being seriously considered before his injury this year. If he gets off to a similar start and then maintains it for at least the first 10-12 rounds, i can see him being picked. I would prefer he didn't get picked this year though, his time will come.

Moylan by a mile.

Sadly Tedesco averages 6 games a year I would rather see him last a full year before anything else.

Spot on , i think common sense should prevail here and i'd imagine Laurie Daley with the experience he has as player and Coach would know that Tedesco needs more than 8-10 games to get to a level of confidence that the Origin Arena demands , especially after everything that Tedesco has been through injury wise .
As others have said his time will come , he can't be rushed he has time on his side.

Teddy will be right for Origin…probs in the first year of his new contract...whether that's with us is a long shot....

Oh dear …Teddy has no chance of Origin ,just being able to play NRL would be his major goal.. with his track record maybe a new occupation might not be far of. This is pie in the sky talk the others in front of him play most season games, may the injury gods be with him.

I think he will be a real chance to make it if he stays fit. An origin fullback needs to tick numerous boxes

1) Defensively sound
2) Reliable under the high ball
3) Make great metres from Kick returns
4) Be a terrific support player and follow the ruck
5) Be able to link the backline
6) Ability to break the line

Dugan, Stewart, Moylan and Gordon all have some of these attributes but I think Teddy has got nearly all these covered. In saying that, I would like to see him string 8 -10 quality games together,

Let's see him string 4 or 5 games together before we start thinking on that level. But there are quite a few in front of him that can handle the physical side of first grade. Teddy has shown so far he can't. Hope he can in 2015, or he could become another Moltzen … a player we should have gotten rid of when we had the chance.

So many ifs, buts and maybes - I just want Teddy to have a full and successful season with us for now - Origin can wait.

Without injury, JT is IMHO, one of the best FB's in the game.
Hopefully injuries are now 'dead, cremated and buried', God speed JT.

Go Tigers :sign:

Is Tedesco doing full sessions in training yet? Coming off a reassembled kneecap I'm more interested in whether he'll get a full preseason, whether he'll get some game time in the trials and if he's a definite starter for round 1 2015\. Origin isn't even on the radar for young James.

Best Tedesco can hope for is to play a full 2015 in good form. That might earn him train on honours with the Kangaroos, and maybe an appearance against PNG or something.

Given that Josh Dugan has only been a centre of half a season, I think he's a good chance of moving back to fullback. It's not like NSW doesn't have other options in the centres. That said Moylan has certainly stated his case on the field. I thought the Panthers were under-represented in rep footy this year when you consider they were within a win of a minor premiership and made the preliminary final. Moylan and Mansour would have to be in Laurie's calculations for 2015.
