Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

The Warriors and WTs lost big name players to a wealthy club when that club knew it was well over the salary cap for the following season. It not only deprived these clubs of two good players, it also denied other less wealthy clubs such as the Warriors, Knights, Dragons and TItans the opportunity to improve their rosters (making the competition more even). It forced WTs to go into the market and by a big name players from the Warriors and Dragon

It also arguably cost us Tedesco as he would have almost certainly stayed if Woods did imo.

Agreed. I would like to see how the NRL deals with this issue.

What a load… this is such rubbish. Nothing at all will happen. The Dogs will offload a few like Eastwood (hope we don't pick him up) and maybe Morris, and somehow they will squeeze under the cap. In the meantime the media will think up some more garbage rumors to keep us all amused.

If Woods signed with us why wouldn't the NRL be compelled to register it. If they can't register the dogs one shouldn't be be regarded as off contract?

I'm excited by the signings and the future at WT. That doesn't include Aaron Woods. I'm fine with that. Move on please.

I disagree. I reckon he has been looking for another club ever since he last signed with us, but especially over the past 12 months and didnt even give this club a chance during current negotiations.

Lets move on please Woods is gone, can you imagine the fiasco if he stayed and wanted to be captain. God help us. Its the Dogs that are in turmoil lets leave it to them and trust in our coach who will continue o do a good job.

I hope Woods stays at Tigers.
I have a feeling that the dogs will do anything to keep him just so they're not publicly humiliated.

There publicly humiliated because Des has bought a hige amount of big boppers and forgot about the spine. The bulldogs side next year looks as ordinary as this year. Foran has struggled ever since manly. Woods will only do what klemmar tolman and graham already do.

I believe we will finish higher than them next year honestly.

That's not saying much. They're a bottom 4 side next year. Des has nothing left to give them. This is why I think there's a chance for Reynolds. Apart from his debut year in 2011, he's played his entire career under Des. A new voice in Cleary could be just be what he needs. Cleary has supposedly been a fan of his for a while, so he might know exactly how to coach him.

A lot of Dogs don't want Woods there anyway so i wish good luck especially if Foran becomes a failure and Woods is lumped with him as the cause of their next year pain

I believe we will too.
I
Unless they have a big change in personnel which I doubt they will Foran and Woods aren't going to save them.

Would be great to see them get wooden spoon and have Hasler still at the helm.

I just prey that no club is dumb enough to help their salary cap issues only it is to get a genuine star from them.

Please leave them stranded with Eastwood Morris twins Mbye Lichaa Tolman.

They are clueless, aging, reserve grade players.

Yes the Morris twinsare great finishers but in a side viid of idea's they are not game breakers and can't finish movements if nothing is created so just hope other clubs leave doggies to self destruct without helping their cap situation

I dont really care either way…would be handy for us if he stayed I guess...he does have a huge motor and an occasional great offload....needs to pull his finger out in D, still pathetic here

Have you seen their roster for next year? They'll be a top 8 side no problem.

A couple of Roosters throwaways and 2 prospects from Brisbane as well as a wonderkid in Ponga doesn't equal a top 8 team. They're still at least 2 seasons away, but Nathan Brown is doing quite the job, but their forward pack is going to be consistently beaten until they sign at least 3 more quality forwards to bolster their pack.

I agree GNR I recall Gould raving about the signing for the Tigers. I think our style will suit his running game the Dogs are slow and predictable.

I'm going to disagree with everyone!

The key is why did Woods sign up with Moses? This created the Big 4 and he would have known that Teddy would be talking big money as well as M Moses.

There was a goal of signing all 3 (teddy, Moses and Brooks) under Taylor, this would have drained our cap. I reckon he went "crap I don't want to leave… add me on to your big deal". Then media BS, then leaving friends BS then all the other BS.... HE had a 900k deal in front of him as Taylor was fired. He turned it down. I don't reckon the Bulldogs would have much more money then that.

Club was unstable and he doesn't want to watch another train wreck season. He discovers that Cleary is a decent coach and believes in next year. So he asks to stay. Remember he has watched Sirro and the forwards coaches chop and change here.

If he truly believes in next year, sign him. If he doesn't and the dogs are pulling the rug under because of CAP pressures, leave him. But only sign him if the price is right! 800K would be my top offer.

I'm not sure about that, they are thereabouts as it is with a cast of kids and an underperforming halfback. Pretty sure the likes of Ponga, Guerra, SKD and Watson plus the Brisbane signings will see them fare significantly better next year. They'll be 6-8th I reckon, they're a ways off pushing for premiership contention though.
