I disagree. I reckon he has been looking for another club ever since he last signed with us, but especially over the past 12 months and didnt even give this club a chance during current negotiations.

The key is why did Woods sign up with Moses? This created the Big 4 and he would have known that Teddy would be talking big money as well as M Moses.

There was a goal of signing all 3 (teddy, Moses and Brooks) under Taylor, this would have drained our cap. I reckon he went "crap I don't want to leave… add me on to your big deal". Then media BS, then leaving friends BS then all the other BS.... HE had a 900k deal in front of him as Taylor was fired. He turned it down. I don't reckon the Bulldogs would have much more money then that.

Club was unstable and he doesn't want to watch another train wreck season. He discovers that Cleary is a decent coach and believes in next year. So he asks to stay. Remember he has watched Sirro and the forwards coaches chop and change here.

If he truly believes in next year, sign him. If he doesn't and the dogs are pulling the rug under because of CAP pressures, leave him. But only sign him if the price is right! 800K would be my top offer.

Woods offer was nowhere in the vicinity of 900K…try 750K ... made up of 150K in Club affiliated TPA's 600K under the Cap..

That offer won't change even if circumstances do..
 
Woods wants to go to a club with a winning culture. We want players and staff that will develop one here.

I wouldn't mind if woods ended up staying. He's a good club level prop.

As a blues fan however, I am adamant he should never be picked in state of origin again. He was woeful this year. A true embarrassment to NSW

Aaron Woods has responded to rumours that he might stay at the Wests Tigers next year if Bulldogs can’t get their salary cap in order.

There were reports on Tuesday that the Wests Tigers were watching Canterbury’s salary cap issues closely, hoping there may be a chance of hanging onto their skipper for next season.

Woods signed a four-year deal with the Bulldogs back in April which commences in 2018.

Speaking to Sky Sports Radio yesterday, Woods confirmed his committed to the Bulldogs next season.

“I’ve got no idea what’s happening,” said Woods.

“All I know is I signed a contract with the Bulldogs and that’s it, mate.

“I’ve enjoyed my time under Ivan but I signed a contract with the Bulldogs and just enjoying my last weeks with the Tigers.”

Woodsie certainly knows how to NOT put a story to bed.

If he says "no it's not true mate, definitely going to the Bulldogs; I want to be there in 2018" then they probably hose down the story, like the Klemmer story that came up a few months back.

But he says careless things like "I've got no idea what's happening", when he probably means "it's just an unfounded rumour". And then he says "all I know is I signed a contract with Dogs" - well that's actually a weird way of saying "I have signed with Dogs and intend to honour that agreement".

Everything he said in the above article could be interpreted to mean that he isn't prepared to make bold statements about joining the Dogs, instead turning to "well I signed a contract, right, so for the moment that's what's happening" but leaving the door open for "if that contract was rescinded then we might see what's possible".

The bloke has no idea how to handle the media and douse the story. Even if he was to lie, even if he was working hard to stay at Tigers whilst telling the media "100% I'm going to Dogs no question", there would be minimal backlash. So be more clear and concise Woodsie.

If he was to come back, I'd welcome him honestly….. Yeah the way he left was horrendous but I can tell he does truely love the club he has just been wrongly guided by his dumb manager, I may get laughed at by that but it's just my view :smiley:

He can't help the fact he's a numbskull. Every time he opens his mouth, he digs the hole he's already in deeper and deeper. He hasn't the first clue how to interact with the media, nor has he any idea of the amount of damage he has done to his own reputation. He needs a minder.
 
I just hope he's never interviewed by the police for a crime he didn't commit. He'll talk his away into a life sentence.
 
Even if Reynolds loves the Dogs I would doubt him wanting to stay there now after this salary cap fiasco. IF he truly loved them that much he never would have signed with the Tigers.

I definitely think Woods wants to stay with us, we all know he's loved playing under Ivan, with the Bulldogs turmoil I would happily stay at my current club too.

Well he stopped short of saying "I signed a contract with the Dogs, but no one knows if they can afford to honour it" which is pretty much the state of play.
