Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

For a laugh, go read the Aaron Woods thread in The Kennel and enjoy the meltdown. Some of the language used is a bit salty.

He is one of the players most hated for being a flop by NRL fans in general.

I know you'd like to think that, but it's probably not really the case.

Well I think it is. I don't see many people rating him who aren't Tigers fans. My mate is a Doggies fan and they aren't happy with this signing.

I wonder what fluffy comments he could be quoted with in a potential press release announcing he's staying. He can't exactly say he never wanted to leave.

He'll be a laughing stock.

I don't reckon that would happen at all. Both sides are primed with reasonable excuses / spin (whatever you want to call it) if the Bulldogs deal was to fall through. Plenty of Tigers fans would react negatively but the wider NRL community would just shrug and let it move on, and it would reflect worst on the Bulldogs club, part of their wider failings as a club this year.

If Joel monahan can continue to show hie face and run onto the park each week …anythings achievable

The majority of fans have short memories...I know some people take things differently to others, if he came back I wouldnt forget how he went about things this year, but he is very distant from me, ( and most players - if theyre smart - are very distant from the fans) he plays in a team I support, its not like hes marrying my daughtter

Woodsy is not at fault he is not an origin or Australian prop on peformance but he gets selected on workrate.
He is overpaid on his profile and the fact he is our only strong forward he gets the stats.

What's wrong with Joel playing? He just did a funny prank that some people didn't see the humour in it. No one was hurt.

I want all 3 of the saps to leave this club as quickly as possible but in the right situation I'd welcome them back. I'd hate to see Woods as captain or any of them being offered similar money to what we have previously offered them. I think these guys have shown they have no loyalty to the club and I'd offer them significantly less than (at least 1/2 less) what they were previously offered.

I don't think any of them will be coming back or staying here though and I think that is the best outcome. I'd like the club to put this whole bunch of drama behind them. I honestly think we should be really careful with betting the house on players who aren't ready to perform or players that aren't that good.

You may end up disappointed then Earl.

It's worth a laugh to have a quick read of the Kennel, how long would they last on this forum with the language.

Fans will forgive and welcome almost any player who has got good form. Bad form can turn fan favourites to most disliked in one season. And some fans appear never fullfiled unless they are constantly giving to at least one player every season and when you have been struggling like us for a number of years - its like take your pick!

I just read it. They love Woods don't they.

Just read a little part of their forum…its obvious why they carry on like scum supporters at their games..
they have no respect for their club or themselves the way they act and speak..why should they be afforded any respect back...

Nearly as much as they love Des.

They seem to be suffering from the same problem that we have for years and that is poor cap management. I think they have a much better side than us on paper though however I don't think they've bought well and they are probably over the cap now.

If there is any part of him that wants to back out of the Dogs deal, then the way contracts are treated these days, telling them he doesn't want to go would be enough for them to pull the pin on him. No club keeps players these days when they ask for a release. So if he was truly spooked by them and can see we're a team on the rise, all he has to do is say so.

Woods is now saying he may miss World Cup selection because we're not in the finals and so others will be noticed while he sits on the sidelines. Nothing to do with his last SOO performance!

It's a big squad but he'd be behind McGuire, Napa, Klemmer, Fifita. He will be there Mal doesn't change players often.

Woods now saying Moses is playing good footy cause his off field life is sorted and stable…. He was poor with us Coz he didn't know if he was staying or going.... Suuuuurrrre erin

Pretty sure that was of his own doing. The continuing refusal of these guys taking any responsibility for their actions is amazing.
