Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

Even the commentators today during the game mentioned it about Woods .. "is he going, or is he staying !!" There must be more to this than we all know .. Dogs must be in deeper trouble than we all think.
Tigers forward for 2018:
Woods, Packer, Matulino, Twal, Grant, Sue, Taylor, McQueen, Aloiai, Eisenhuth, MM, Liddle

I wonder if today's game has Woods thinking…

About what? Seriously, we pluck these out occasionally. The only thing that he is thinking about is who will actually be his team mates next year at the Dogs, and coach for that matter.

Even carrying a couple of reserve grade standard players, there is no reason this team couldn't and shouldn't win against the Cowboys and Warriors. I like the resolve about them, but honestly these great wins have been done a hundred times before, Woods knows it and Teddy definately knows it and the only way to rub their noses in it is to make sure we win consistently, not occasionally. Should we bag 2 out of the next 3, then he might be thinking…....

Of course he would be having doubts. But he made his decision thinking the grass was greener. He has put in every week since his announcement, would like to still have him at our club but its not the end of the world, Packer and Matulino are a good swap. Will cheer Woods on his final game at Leichhardt v Warriors, he has put in plenty of effort but unfortunately spoke like a goose upon his Dogs announcement.

He should get used to these sorts of wins. Every win he has at the Dogs over the next couple of years will feel no different than today.

If he plays like he did today I would keep him if offered. That was the first time I have actually seen him run hard with the ball rather than just plodding and reversing into the opposition.

Yeah i hope so. But like i said, hes already used to them. Lets face it, they are not unusual at this club, what is unusual is consistently winning. (since 2011 at least)

I think the last month+ has had Woods thinking. He loves Cleary and the media coming out of Belmore would make any player re-think their choices.

Matulino ran for 153 metres against a big Raiders pack with two offloads. I suspect Cleary wouldn't be interested.
It would be too high of a percentage of the cap in props.

Mats is a hell of a player. He also had a hand in one of their tries. He'll be a forum favourite next year imo.

Hope so. Have noticed you have a very high opinion of Matulino, haven't wasted too much time watching the Warriors games this year so wouldn't know how BM has been going TBH. Hope we get the best out of him and Packer.

Matulino has been one of the better props in the comp over the last few months. He's not back to his 2015 form but he still looks like he's building. If he stays fit he'll be a huge asset, especially if Ivan gives him a license to offload.

And the 153 metres was from just 51 minutes game time too.

Coincidently - Woods 153 metres today in 48 minutes.

Don't you know Telltails, that stats mean nothing when it comes to assessing Woods' game.
