Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

Would take him back with open arms. Forwards win you matches and it's been our downfall over the years. Can you imagine a prop rotation of

- woods
- packer
- mautilino
- twal

Would be one of the best in the comp.

I think it would look more like:-

- packer
- matulino
- twal
- woods

Yes our forwards have been poor but one of the big issues has been overpaying our never to play origin again captain top dollar.

I'd have him back if Bulldogs are paying half his salary.

If the doggies have to let Woods go and Tigers only offer 500K would the doggies have to make up the difference?

Yes. Contracts are signed.

Contracts signed with whom ? Tigers ?

The ink has dried on his bulldogs contract and the cooling period is over.
He is their liability if they don't want him for 2018.
So yes, they will be paying him to play here or where ever next year if that's what you're asking.

One average game from Woods and some people here want the bus to run over him like a speed hump..go have a look at the 3,2,1,s over the last few weeks, he's been up there as one of our best players nearly every week.

The close 10 meters didn't help Woods on Sunday either, Penrith were all over him before he could move.

He hardly had time to turn around and back into them

Now that crack made me laugh. Well done, I needed it.

I wonder what fluffy comments he could be quoted with in a potential press release announcing he's staying. He can't exactly say he never wanted to leave.

It's good when you see a post like that and get a laugh, amongst all this negativity.

I didn't think that the contracts were registered yet. NRL wanted to see a management plan before they would register new contracts.

He'll be a laughing stock.

Negativity? I'm not sure about you, but I'm enjoying watching the Dogs struggle.

That's my understanding the contract is legally binding but not registered. Dogs have signed Woods at 920k Tigers offering 750k. I believe if the Dogs don't want to honour the deal they will have to pay the difference between their deal and the contract Woods signs elsewhere.
If Woods seeks a release and granted by the Dogs he will likely take a haircut maybe even a beard shave.

I was implying that there are some people on this forum if they won 20 million they would still have a whinge.

I already have a few in mind.

Take him back, he will go a lot better with his game if he is not the only forward having a go- prior to Twal and Hoose that is

Funny thing i saw at the panthers game before kick off- the cameras panning around captured Sharron getting his hair done by a trainer, maybe the Dogs will need extra cap space for a qualified hairdresser to do a professional job on Woods

Aaron Woods committed, but Bulldogs cap uncertainty impacting on players
CHRISTIAN NICOLUSSI, The Daily Telegraph

Tigers officials do not expect to keep Woods, and even if the Dogs were forced to shed players and create space in their salary cap, the bearded prop would be one of the last to be asked to bail on Belmore.

Woods praised new Tigers coach Ivan Cleary and said his childhood club was heading in the right direction with him at the helm, including Sunday’s Leichhardt Oval clash against Manly.

“It’s disappointing to move on when they get a really good fella in like Ivan,’’ Woods said.

“But I’ve committed to doing what I’m doing next year, I’ve enjoyed my time under Ivan, and the next four weeks I won’t let him down.’’

The rest of the article was basically Tim Mannah's opinion on how the dogs players are feeling "nervous", so I left it out.

Of course Woods will honor his contract. If he says anything else he will forgo money. Dogs have to honor it one way or another.

Tigers on the other hand will be happy to take him back on a heavily subsidized (by dogs) bench prop salary.

Matalino and Packer would be my starters if he stays

Back in the day , players like Les Davidson and David Gillespie would've made mince meat out of woods .
Especially with Woods looking like an overweight dyke with that hair .
Woods would've had more fans if he sported a Mullett !
