Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

Thought woods has been good since Origin. However I felt today and last week weren't two of his better games. I'm still happy with him leaving

Of course he would be having doubts. But he made his decision thinking the grass was greener. He has put in every week since his announcement, would like to still have him at our club but its not the end of the world, Packer and Matulino are a good swap. Will cheer Woods on his final game at Leichhardt v Warriors, he has put in plenty of effort but unfortunately spoke like a goose upon his Dogs announcement.

Ummmm….spot on!

Woods deep down will regret his decision… I'm sure his manager was behind him leaving too

I don't think it's deep down that he's regretting his decision, I think it's showing fairly clearly. Wouldn't mind him staying, at the right price, we are short of a forward or 2 for next year.

I feel it is fairly obvious he would prefer to stay but unfortunately he followed the advice that his sleaze bag of a manager gave him.

Hope so. Have noticed you have a very high opinion of Matulino, haven't wasted too much time watching the Warriors games this year so wouldn't know how BM has been going TBH. Hope we get the best out of him and Packer.

And the 153 metres was from just 51 minutes game time too.

Coincidently - Woods 153 metres today in 48 minutes.

Don't you know Telltails, that stats mean nothing when it comes to assessing Woods' game.

What are we paying Matulino relative to what the dogs are paying Woods?

He'd be copping heaps from his teammates atm i reckon. Probably coming back from the shower and finding wooden spoons in his bag. Just adds to the hilarity.

If Woods was on the open market he would still command the contract he will receive at the Bulldogs. The Knights, the Warriors and the Dragons are chasing at least on prop. The Sharks are a bit light on up front as well even with the addition of Ava.

I think the team Is too focused on trying to avoid the spoon themselves THIS YEAR, rather than thinking about doing juvenile pranks over something that hasn't even happened yet, and may not ever happen, hence the great team performance yesterday.

Yeah - doubt it.

Why? Shane Flanagan the other day said that Jack Bird has been getting a bit of stick from his teammates about heading to Brisbane. If he's getting stick for heading to a club second on the ladder, what would Woods be copping? And no, i'm not saying it would be malicious. But boys will be boys. Its naive to think they haven't tried to wind him up about it.

Probably some banter going on. Seems like a character that would give as good as he gets in that department. We certainly would have been a much more jovial dressing shed than the Bulldogs this week.

Mate I still can't fathom why players in a team that is in the precarious position of possibly getting the spoon this season would be making slurs about another team possibly getting the spoon next year! It would be senseless and hypocritical.

Because we aren't getting the spoon. We actually are a good chance of finishing in front of the Dogs. We're heading in the right direction, and the Dogs are going backwards with no positives in sight. He made a big mistake and he knows it. I'm sure his teammates know it too.

Titans and Warriors have an ordinary run home too. We could finish as high as 12th if results go our way and we beat Cowboys/Warriors.

Definitely hope we don't get it, but we are still in a precarious position, running second last with a poor F/A and only a few games left - I won't feel confident until it's all over and the fat lady sings!

I would like nothing more than both us and Newcastle to keep winning and overtake the likes of the Dogs, Warriors & Titans, but nothing is guaranteed, imo. And as for next season, it would be mad to try and predict the outcome of anything at this stage - there is a whole off season to go through yet, before another year of ifs, buts, maybes, injuries and other extenuating circumstances that make it impossible to really know who will end up with the spoon.
