Woods out for 4-6 Weeks

2 injuries to Woods and SImona and we are already starting to look as very thin and poor side.

I fear things are about to get ugly.

I don't know where our next win is coming from to be honest.

Was thinking that myself driving home from the game yesterday. The draw isn't great but when your down the bottom of the table, I suppose its never going to be. I think our next win comes from the promotion of some of these younger and the more experienced players we bought to the club in the off season. All summer we read about how well they were going and their aspirations to play first grade. They would surely be hungry to get a start and know that they need to perform well to stay there. Apart from some minor changes here and there, the current first grade team has lost 4 in a row. Hard to imagine they are suddenly going to turn that around and win a string of games. Disappointed for Woods. He walked off unaided yesterday. I was hoping for just two week max but its not to be. :frowning: Speedy recovery wishes to him.

Firstly let me say I've been and am a Jason Taylor supporter as coach I think he has tried to make the right decisions for this club without the nessecary support.

However I think I can say now that Aaron Woods injury means he has probably played his last game under Jason Taylor as coach. 4-6 weeks out and we will struggle to win a game without him

No big deal..I've been reading on the forum that apparently Woodsy is a plodder…so it will be an upgrade...

Teddy can pick up the slack for 400m a game...

Yeah, look at him plodding for Australia. What a waste of space. And he only plods 150 metres a game for us.

Woods last 2 games have been 17 runs for 150 mtrs ( av 8.8 ) and 15 runs for 118 mtrs ( 7.8 ) Buchanan last 2 games 2 runs for 13 mtrs ( 6.5 ) and 7 runs for 57 mtrs ( 8.1 ) . Both players have had zero offloads. Woods played 113 mins for 51 tackles and Buchanan 43 mins for 33 tackles.

I can see who the plodder is.

Just as a follow up on my previous post - I can't stand Buchanan but over the past 2 games Woodsy is posting Buchanan type stats - except for the fact Woodsy misses a couple of tackles a game - Buchanan has no missed tackles.

Amputate his leg. He will be back in 2 and playing to Buchanan's standard

You obviously haven't looked at Woods stats over the last 2 games - he is playing below Buchanans standard.

What I find extraordinary is the post that both Woods and Buchanan in the past two games made no offloads?? Does that mean they did not break the line and off load or they just did not pass the ball. I thought Woods passed at least once.

Hmmm i think the sarcasm may have been missed in my post…none the less have a read of the Our Forwards thread in the Newcastle sub forum...

FWIW..Woodsy is a massive loss...

Based on these stats Buchanan will play 60 mins, make 50 tackles, 15 runs and 120 metres. All good then.

Woods bases his game around being a metre eater and that is what brought him success at NRL, SOO and international level. He never has been and never will be an offloader but he is by far the best at what he does. Buchanan? How could anyone mention him in the same breath as Woods?

We will have to start with Sue in the front row and he will have to play plenty of minutes.
Edwards at lock and we will need a bench that can play minutes and be used efficiently.
This will cover Woods as Sue can step up big time.

We will either be playing with a lightweight pack, or a couple of blokes will be making their debut. Griffen, Buchanan, Graham and Edwards would have to up for consideration.
