Woods out for 4-6 Weeks

We are so lucky (at least in opinion of few experts on this forum), so Buchannan will easily replace Woods,
he will next play for NSW and Australia (I know it is still April but this was a good one  )

It looks like many people didn't watch any game this season, as the stats says that Woods is the best meter eating prop in NRL by quite a margin (https://www.nrl.com/stats/telstrapremiership/statsleaders/tabid/11564/stat/allrunmetres/default.aspx), inconvenient facts for some

Firstly let me say I've been and am a Jason Taylor supporter as coach I think he has tried to make the right decisions for this club without the nessecary support.

However I think I can say now that Aaron Woods injury means he has probably played his last game under Jason Taylor as coach. 4-6 weeks out and we will struggle to win a game without him

We are struggin to win with woods.

I don't think he wants the burden of sitting next to Taylor for post match interviews would be closer to the truth.

Amputate his leg. He will be back in 2 and playing to Buchanan's standard

You obviously haven't looked at Woods stats over the last 2 games - he is playing below Buchanans standard.

What I find extraordinary is the post that both Woods and Buchanan in the past two games made no offloads?? Does that mean they did not break the line and off load or they just did not pass the ball. I thought Woods passed at least once.

Woods bases his game around being a metre eater and that is what brought him success at NRL, SOO and international level. He never has been and never will be an offloader but he is by far the best at what he does. Buchanan? How could anyone mention him in the same breath as Woods?

Woods has always been able to off load, for some reason he's stopped.
His metres lately have been a bit wasted as he takes so long to play the ball.
The opposition don't care how long he stands in the tackle, as it just gives them more time to reset their defence.
He can make all the metres he wants, but the next runner usually has a fully set of defenders in front of him by the time he plays t ball.

Yeah, but there is something,so far this season, missing compared to the last two seasons, perhaps he's not offloading as much as he used to,perhaps opposition coaches know his play too well,i can't put my finger on it but he's playing differently and its not helping.

No big deal..I've been reading on the forum that apparently Woodsy is a plodder…so it will be an upgrade...

Teddy can pick up the slack for 400m a game...

Woods last 2 games have been 17 runs for 150 mtrs ( av 8.8 ) and 15 runs for 118 mtrs ( 7.8 ) Buchanan last 2 games 2 runs for 13 mtrs ( 6.5 ) and 7 runs for 57 mtrs ( 8.1 ) . Both players have had zero offloads. Woods played 113 mins for 51 tackles and Buchanan 43 mins for 33 tackles.

I can see who the plodder is.

Based on these stats Buchanan will play 60 mins, make 50 tackles, 15 runs and 120 metres. All good then.

Hahaha yeah, diedpretty you are being a peanut.

T-Rex is good for a few 8 metre carries, problem for the Dogs is that is the total number of carries he has per game.

Also cherry-picking which games you are looking at.

Gee, has the game changed that much. It is not all about meters, is it not also about denting the line and getting go forward. In the 1st few game this was happening, now it is not????

It won't matter who you put in Captain…..we are in for a hiding the next couple of weeks i fear regardless who has a (c) to there name.

lol idk who said woods has been a plodder this year but couldnt be more wrong.

look at when he's off just after half time and how many points we've conceded when he's off.

i was sitting next to a bunch of knights supporters on sunday and everyone said we look way worse than when woods was on.

MASSIVE LOSS. hopefully ava, grant and siro can work harder.

I am wondering if Aaron has joined some sect that prohibits him from off loading the ball? Arty Beetson was a champion at it and created havoc.

In and amongst all this, I am super curious how Tatola and Felise from the 20s fit into calculations. I have not seen any of them this year and caught a couple of games last year.

It appears Buchanan is next cab off the prop rank, which means our depth is pretty ordinary, and for whatever reason Jordan Grant and Dallas Graham are not getting or likely to get the call up.

So does anyone know or have an opinion on whom of the younger emerging props has the best chance of making a go of it in firsts? Do we bring up one of the lads from NSW Cup, or do we bide our time until the 20s boys are ready?
