In basic terms there are groups of people that are unable to be vaccinated for valid reasons including their age, alergies, being immunocompromised etc. who are at high risk if they get ill.

That is what shits me about people who refuse vaccination talking about their right to personal freedom and their right to choose. I absolutely agree with those rights, as long as they live somewhere where they are completely self sufficient and have no interaction with other humans that do not share their beliefs.

Most kids that die from whooping cough are too young to be vaccinated and have picked it up from someone wandering around in the community with it who has chosen not to be vaccinated because they consider the risk to themselves low.

If you vaccinated it does not stop you from getting Covid or passing it on so you will still hurt the people you mentioned

It does not stop 100% but greatly improves your chances of catching it (80% less likely to catch it) and if you have it the viral load is much lower which reduces your chances of passing it on.

Forget going to the movies & sports, if you were living with someone undergoing chemo would you get vaccinated against those illnesses you could to reduce the chances of you getting one of them and passing it on to someone that was unable to fight it off?

Iam living with someone going through chemo and yes I have had two jabs and so has my wife who is going through chemo.

Thats what immunity is. Teaching your antibodies to attack the antigen. This jab does not do this in that way. It causes RNA to create the spike protein. There has never been a vaccine that works in this way

They've been working on the science behind mRNA vaccines for 30 years. They were already preparing the technology for clinical trials when COVID hit.

AZ isn't an mRNA vaccine - get that if you have some unfounded suspicion of mRNA vaccines.

Also, again, what long-term data do you need? There are literally billions of doses been given now. What are your expectations for safety data in several years from now? Vaccines typically cause effects rapidly, hence why they observe you for 15-30 mins then send you home.

Covid is like the Flu. There's not going to be a vaccine that will counter the virus permanently. New vaccines will always have to be updated.

The unvaccinated death rate from COVID appears to have settled around 1%.

So to let every Australian catch COVID and "hope for the best" will kill 250 thousand Australians. It will kill 50 thousand Kiwis and 3.3 million Americans. It would kill 21 million Chinese. It would kill 70 million humans, if everyone eventually caught it.

Or you can just get your shot. I don't specifically understand what @philgood's concerns are. Adverse reactions? Government tracking devices? COVID hoax?

Vaccines work, it is an outstanding medical and scientific consensus.

Ultimately Workcover might have something to say about that. I think that is where the compliance will eventually come from.

You do know 20 is a very crap sample size, right? I could find 20 people that fell off buildings and were not badly hurt, but doesn't make falling off buildings a good idea.

Exactly. I went overseas in 1975 and needed Smallpox, Yellow Fever and Typhoid shots before we could go. Why is a vaccination certificate so different now?

Year 7 at school the girls all got Rubella shots. In primary school we all got the Sabin Oral Polio vaccine - no complaints from anyone back then.

People used to be grateful and there was no social media to fuel conspiratorial tendencies.

I don't understand how this has happened. I've shown the facts in relation to the vaccines previously. The odds are so far in your favor if you take the vaccine. It's like 100 to 1 or something like that and we are talking about your health. Can you imagine not taking those odds.
