WT and Balmain Debt Article

Balmain just need to put a call out to fans to donate money if their debt means they'll go bust. I and many other fans would be happy to throw in plenty of cash. I currently donate to WT in buying a full membership even though I only make it to about 5 games a year.

Unless supporters are willing to fork out thousands and thousands of dollar each its very wishful thinking to believe that will solve anything. Little hundred dollar donations aren't going to make much difference
 
Why is it always the black and white side of the merger moaning?
Truth is the ' Wests' part of our name isn't enough for some of the old Wests hacks.
They have always wanted to get rid of the Tiger and replace it completely with their beloved Magpie (could also get rid of that horrible orange/gold off the jersey , too)
Now they feel they have a financial advantage they see it as the time to swoop.
Masters alluded to what Saints did to Illawarra for a reason.
Maybe it's time that he (Masters) declared where his loyalties lie before delivering up his next Wests versus Balmain drivel.
Might also pay some of the Maggies back room boys to remember the tables have been turned once - and may turn again.

What irks me is why it is always Masters who writes these articles - and if it is Wests v Balmain 'fact' then it shows there are a lot of morons still involved at the top that should be shown the door.

Lol someones a little paranoid. And FTR, if you read the thread properly the moaning was started by someone who quite clearly doesn't have a Black and White background.

There's never been any indication whatsoever that anyone from the Wests side of the board want to bring the Magpie back, just your paranoid delusion

I don't see how wanting better acknowledgment and representation of your brand can be seen as paranoid? somehow coming to the conclusion that that means they'll try and bring back the Magpies if they happen to seize power is a bit on the paranoid side though. And no, im not singling you out, i've heard a lot of people moan thinking thats what Wests Group real intentions are like they've heard it from board members themselves. I've even heard people say they'd walk away for good, how fickle is that? regardless of what happens to Balmain, WT's won't be going anywhere, and rest your pretty little head, the Magpies will not be returning. WT's are here to stay, that much as is for certain. Not sure if i can say the same for some supporters though

Maybe the FACT that WT is perceived or portrayed externally as Balmain…

I.e. Ray Warren calling WT Balmain multiple times in a call in Round 3 this year vs parra or Warren Ryan calling WT Balmain on ABC radio or the NEW Unified WT nsw cup team being called Balmain on scoreboards and match guides - 13 years since WT was formed and they are still (carelessly or intentionally) being referred to as Balmain. Not to mention the fact that WT is referred to as just "The Tigers" 90% of the time - just like Balmain. Chuck in the 4 games at Campbelltown also.

Of course original magpie fans get peed off with such ignorance and imbalance from the media and others.

Not blaming 'Balmain people' its just proof that WT is seen EXTERNALLY to some as a re-badged Balmain which itself is a partial failure in identity efforts of the JV.

Western Suburbs Magpies moved to Campbelltown 26 years ago for the growth of rugby league not to provide the community 4 games a year in 2013\. The JV should work towards a 6 game arrangement to capture the community. 12 home games is not what i am implying.

WT is a legacy of Balmain & Wests so there obvious are obligations for WT. like any other nrl club, they must have strong financial backing not a half owner thats millions in debt.

The proposal for Wests Group to have the chairman role full time while balmain is in debt or tries to re-pay its debt sounds reasonable.
If that equates to some better 'Wests branding' in WT than thats a bonus.

Don't panic cktiger, the magpies are not returning to the NRL
