In a suprise to nobody I am sure this thread is spiralling downward. Let's at least try to look at the article on it's merits rather then dredging the past.
We need clarity in our funding model. At this stage the Balmain portion has stuck to the agreement made and stumped up the first payment so they in fact are at an even ledger right now.
The next issue is the second payment requested (I assume to get rid of the Sheens cloud for good). Will wait and see where that goes.
Looking forward there is going to be another, pretty large, funding shortfall the way our season is progressing so that is the next big issue on the horizon.
IMHO there should be a meeting organised with the NRL. If the Sharks can bilk millions upon millions of dollars over the years I think it is reasonable to propose a funding security in order to take 6 games a year to the south west. Because the simple fact is the crowds have not been there this year and it would be financial suicide to do it on our own.
Back to the immediate. I would be fine with the proposal given one caveat. Nobody from the Wests Football Club should ever be allowed to hold the Chairman position. Wests Ashfield is a business in the market for success and profit and that in itself will guarantee the split of games in the Sydney basin fairly similar to what it is now because they would not want to take or underwrite the financial failings of a 100% South West move. They are comfortable with our current training set up and want the team to succeed because it means working towards a zero drain from their shares in the WT asset.
Anywho, have a good Sunday peeps
