WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

And it’s why a guy like Munster just smirks when his name is mentioned in the same breath as WT. the club’s reputation is MUD. And it’s the front office job to build that reputation.
It's the whole organisation's job to build that reputation.

Munster would not smirk, or whatever mind reading capability you claim to have, if Tigers were making finals every season, and that falls on everyone from the Board down.

Depends how you define success. If you mean how many seasons did Pascoe coach the Tigers to the finals, it's the same as Madge - bit fat zero.

Yeah I skipped a couple in Tim Sheen's record, but you didn't say 7 consecutive years of failures, you just said 7. And I pointed out that there is another guy with 7 years of failure AT WESTS TIGERS who is being given keys to the proverbial coaching castle.

You don't really want to pull out Tim Sheens' record as a point of support. He was 1/4 finals at Penrith, 7/8 at Raiders, 0/5 at Cowboys and 3/10 at Tigers. That's 11/27 or a strike rate of 40.7%. Even someone like Brian Smith got to the finals over 50% of the time across 5 clubs.

This is not in defence of Pascoe - I said before, I don't care if he gets the sack, has zero impact on me and I don't know the guy personally. More this is in argument against what I consider a pointless thread.

We've got the current head coach possibly about to be sacked at the recommendation of another head coach that we previously sacked, but people want to go back reviewing a list of old mistakes by Tigers staff.
I’d say winning premierships is probably the best measure. Prepared to back those who’ve done that.

No I mean 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012. That's 7 years of failures, and you can reasonably include his parachuting into 2022, to make an 8th season of non-return.

Even Michael Maguire alone has a superior decade-long record than Tim Sheens, recording 4 consecutive finals and a premiership in his last 10 completed seasons.

It's interesting to me, the narrative that Pascoe is a failure but Tim Sheens will resolve the Tigers woes. Especially given it appears Tim Sheens is the sole arbiter of the future of Madge Maguire mid-season 2022.
Madge missed the 8 his last 2 Seasons at South's. So it's 6 Seasons since Madge has Coached a side to the top half of the Comp.

You're right. Broncos were a poorly run outfit for 10 years prior to Ikin's appointment. How stupid of me.
I said nothing like that mate. Broncs were a rabble for at least 2 years, getting whipped by us more than once. Point is it can be turned around if the right people are making the big calls.

How does it differ to threads laying the boot into Madge, Brooks, Cleary, Matto. Aloiai etc. Is the front office above criticism for some of the forumers? Did someone invite them to a black tie event or something?

And 11 years for Sheens. Cameron Ciraldo never coached a first-grade side to the finals and Bomber Morris is 2/2. You are correct but I don't get the point.

That's odd, you back Michael Maguire then?
You won’t find a single post where I have laid all the blame on him. My main issue is with our roster/ list management which has gotten progressively worse through many years of poor management. We have arrived at a point where our main tactic is to leave roster spots available to pick up other clubs leftovers.

Those threads get pretty boring / pointless too.

The difference however is you can judge Madge, Brooks, Cleary, Matto etc. very specifically by on-field performances. Visible, public behaviours.

For off-field staff you can barely judge anything at all - it starts to become abstract considerations like "making the finals" or "winning premierships" which are probably not KPIs or within the job description of most of the Tigers admin staff.

Will you back him however? Should Madge remain as coach?

I do find it odd that you say you won't lay all the blame on Madge. OK. Do you lay all the blame on Pascoe? Or is it actually quite a complicated matter, same as it is for Madge?

People judging Brooks, Madge etc are looking at the wins and losses column too. Completely disregarding the fact they’re playing a team sport in a rubbish team. Built by the front office.
