Will you back him however? Should Madge remain as coach?

I do find it odd that you say you won't lay all the blame on Madge. OK. Do you lay all the blame on Pascoe? Or is it actually quite a complicated matter, same as it is for Madge?
I’ll back Sheens to make the right call. I’ll also wager that if the front office aren’t replaced, then the next coach will be up for the axe in 2-3 years.

And 11 years for Sheens. Cameron Ciraldo never coached a first-grade side to the finals and Bomber Morris is 2/2. You are correct but I don't get the point.
You mentioned Sheens Coaching record, I didn't get that point. I was merely stating that Madge has failed in 6 Seasons with 2 different Clubs, maybe he is part of the problem. Did you envisage that 4 years into his tenure, we wouldnt have made the 8 once and finish lower on the ladder each year. I don't recall anyone on here saying "we need to give Madge 5 years before we can qualify for the top 8"

Pascoe? This thread says "front office stuff ups". It could be Pascoe, Grant Meyer, Humphries, Noycie, the membership guys, the lady who runs the jersey shop, marketing, sponsorship etc. etc.

If it floats your boat to list a litany of agreed or debatable errors of non-playing staff, by all means. Totally not constructive though.
Don't forget it all starts at the front office.

I said nothing like that mate. Broncs were a rabble for at least 2 years, getting whipped by us more than once. Point is it can be turned around if the right people are making the big calls.
As I mentioned, they may have done it quicker. But the fact remains, if you're down in a single team market for 2 years, after being one of the superclass clubs of the last 20 years, as opposed to our situation and being down for 10. I know which task I'd rather take.

The front office is not above criticism at all, and the hiring Ivan decision probably cost that 3 years but context in all of it, please. Not many people on here were against Ivans appointment if I recall. No one saw that coming, not even one of his best mates.

History tells us Ivan can coach, so on merit he was a good hire. What happened with our roster while he was here was the beginning of our journey to the dumpster

He signed with another club while having more than 18 months on his then current deal with the warriors. His best mate would have known that....

I don't understand this mentality.

What more do the muppets in the front office need to do to supply a foundation for Madge to succeed? The Board is stable, memberships and sponsorships are there, we can afford our complete salary cap and football operations budgets.

I was told the first grade side has never been funded so well, as the commitments made in 2021-2022. The Centre of Excellence is due to open this year. The Pathways program has been set in place and well-funded with lots of support staff.

If these support platforms are all true, it stops being about facilities and starts being more about coach, tactics and roster.

And you said yourself - you think Madge is somewhat hamstrung by roster management. But that's now under Sheens' jurisdiction since we punted Hartigan and Sheensie recalled Warren McD.

So if Sheens decides to punt Madge, that's also on Sheens - that he doesn't think Madge can work with the new systems to achieve success. Yes, then I agree a new coach would also be thrown into the meat grinder, but Sheens can no longer claim to be independent of those systems - he is now responsible for them.

If anything, front office has taken their hands right off Football Ops. You almost never from Lee or Pascoe any more, everything funnels in through Sheens. But still you think because of past mistakes we need some more front-office cuts? You feel the current planning system is no good? The CoE will not have an impact?

The ultimate irony is that the front office installed the bloke you now back to make the right call on Madge. So if Sheens is a good appointment, that was done by the front office.

I did envision it but I hope I would be wrong.

My original point with Madge and Sheens was they both won a comp in their last 10 years in charge, but actually Madge made finals 4 times and Sheens 3, so Madge has a superior finals coaching record over Sheens in their last 10 years in the NRL.

Just as an aside also, Madge has an all-time NRL win rate of 49.4%. Sheens is 51.3%, but it must be noted that this includes the Canberra dynasty where he won 66.5% of matches. You can fairly say they are evenly matched in the win ratio, though Sheens was only 44.8% in the UK ESL and Madge was 75.7% with 2 years at Wigan.

Because it’s taken 10 years to unravel the shit the board and Pascoe have implemented
