Bennett said last week he doesn't want to return to SydneyMy thoughts is if it was someone like Bennett for example he wouldn't want it announced as that would risk his current role.

Don't dash my hopesBennett said last week he doesn't want to return to Sydney
Sorry mate .....he brought it up when they were seeing if he was interested in taking over the 18th side entry into the NRLDon't dash my hopes
It's why clubs don't often move Up the ladder to much these days .
When the maggies would get raided players would get often offered double yes double and blocks of 3 or 4 would go.
With the cap a club offers 20% more.....and unless the player is unhappy they stay at the incumbent. It's a real problem.
Development with 2 or 3 signings is all one can do these days.
Unless you have an edge like NZ or Brisbane or even Souths.
Highlighting how difficult it is for club to entice a high profile recruit these days. What does that have anything to do with what was being discussed?
We
Won't have any instability thanks.

Thought we done pretty well lately with the few we signed.
But not enough.
Hard to offer an edge.
To babysit Benji and Scott. Why would we bother announcing an interim head of football if he's only warming the seat?
I'm confused.
Would bring respect to the club.He would have drawing power with players and player managers. Would also be a good mentor for Benji, someone that he respects and trusts enough to listen to. I think he would be good in the role for the Tigers.
Sack the lot of them
CLAWS OUT AFTER TIGERS REVIEW
The Wests Tigers’ decision to rubberstamp a bid for Penrith star Jarome Luai may be the final act of the club’s embattled board.
The review into the governance at the Tigers has been completed and it is understood the Holman Barnes Group – including their representatives on the football club board – have been given a snapshot of the findings.
A full briefing for the Holman Barnes Group is imminent. The Tigers’ independent directors as well as the representatives of Wests and Balmain are yet to be afforded the same luxury and they may be forced to wait until next month to get a sense of what has been recommended by those responsible for the review – former NRL chief financial officer Tony Crawford and managing director of Cooperage Capital Pty Ltd, Gary Barnier.
There is a sense in some quarters that the board may be changed en masse as the club looks to modernise and broaden its level of expertise.
That would involve Holman Barnes directors voting for their own demise, but they would make a mockery of the review if they didn’t act on the recommendations.
Most interest centres on the future of chase Lee Hagipantelis, who is also the principal of the club’s major sponsor Bryden’s Lawyers.
Hagipantelis was interviewed as part of the review but could be removed if there are sweeping changes at board level.
Interestingly, he has no control over his own fate. Under the Tigers constitution, only the shareholders in the club are believed to hold the power over the appointment and removal of directors.
Hagipantelis was notably tight-lipped on the club’s chase of Luai when he appeared on radio station SEN on Friday morning prior to a golf day he had sponsored for The Leukaemia Foundation.
Coach Benji Marshall also played in the golf day at Twin Creeks but gave SEN a wide berth as he made his way in the clubhouse – Penrith director Greg Alexander was on-air at the time.
Neither can the board.I can't wait to see this review.
Neither can the board.
So, if there were misses we didn't publicize, maybe you can enlighten us as to who they were.Bennett, Ciraldo, Mitchell, Munster, Moses all within the last 5 years that were high profile, public, priority targets that we missed. They are just the publicly known ones. Imagine the misses we didn't publicise
Ok...so if the people that make the decisions knowing full well that Balmain only owns a miniscule part of our club and therefore should only be entitled to a miniscule say in what happens in the near future, decide that our club would be better off without Balmain and unwanted appendages like back door benny, are you prepared to support that?Hopefully people will make decisions on what is best for the club and not what is best for them individually.
Seems like the first time Lee has kept his mouth shut for a very long time. Long may it continue....but i dont hold my breath as he loves the limelight unlike most of the other NRL chairmen. He does more damage with his public persona than he does good within the club.Agree on that but it’s about strategy, commitment to that strategy (funds, ups/downs, teamwork, having each others backs etc) & having the right people to execute it.
I do think the process being undertaken on the juniors has been to date for the last few years has been very well managed (we cannot keep them all but we look to be keeping most and the good ones). We are promoting the kids through the grades and next few years will show us how well our development plans are truley working. The decade or so before that was diabolical.
To me it showed they were somewhat working to a strategy.
Recruitment wise We targeted forwards, we then targeted halves & now targeting backs. You can’t rebuild a full squad in 1-2yrs and get success it often takes a journey for long lasting and allow the next wave of talent to filter through with the experience.
Api, Papa, Klem & Bateman are mid-top quality.
Fainu was one of the best kids around
Sullivan is what I call a seesaw player at his age with his talent. Sezar is probably the best of the rest for what was available for 24 if we are being fair.
Our juniors are all untested and 90% kids don’t make it thats facts. Of the 10% half of those never player over 30 nrl games. So it will be very interesting over next 2-3yrs how successful our now heavy junior squad will form.
If that is the recommendations from the review then so be it. I am not fighting for the return of Balmain.Ok...so if the people that make the decisions knowing full well that Balmain only owns a miniscule part of our club and therefore should only be entitled to a miniscule say in what happens in the near future, decide that our club would be better off without Balmain and unwanted appendages like back door benny, are you prepared to support that?
