Well, all I can say at this time is kudos to Hartigan and co for their recruitment and roster management. The recruitment has been wonderous compared to previous seasons bargain basement signing. It shows a complete reversal of previous thinking of anything but youth. Whether this is Roosters thinking transferred to us oe not, I'm happy and think its the beter way to go in roster and salary cap management

The Tigers are building very nicely. I liked how they the recruitment got the prop depth sorted early in the preseason and didn’t pay overs. There is still about right number of spots left in the Top30 and the budget / salary cap looks to be in great shape for the next few years.
Our recruitment guys are still out there in the market place being unafraid to ruffle a few feathers. The backing of a law firm as a major sponsor would help if there is any concerns in negotiation methods.

Hopefully we wouldn’t need the backing of a law firm in our negotiations and dealings?

I read all the talk about Momo and I think I see a Problem:
We cant be too Specialised.

People say we should Hire Mansour from Penrith, we have Nofo, Talou, Mbye and Momo. Why do we need an at best B grade winger? (If we were loosing Nofo,??? Maybe).

What happened to Flexibility? What happened to Utility? Manly had every player do a fair bit of time out of position. When Tommy Turbo went down, he could be covered.

If Mono cant play Center because Roberts and BJ play better. Why cant he play wing.
Why cant BJ play wing, where he can be a beast and have Momo play center inside?

Why cant Momo play 1? He is listed there for us Game 1 on NRL.com

Adam Doulieni seems willing to play anywhere from 1-7. I think Momo is a great player and someone we want in our team. But we need to have more flex and utility. If he cant grab a vacant spot from 1-7 or force himself into the spot he wants then maybe we dont want him.
We should surely not be thinking to hire Mansour when Momo or Talou could match him in performance on the wing.

Each position in the backline (not including halves) has subtle nuances where you either need the ability to tackle one on one, to catch kicks, additional pace, exceptional fitness or positional play and if you are 10% off in that area NRL coaches will exploit you. I think Momo is a centre.

Momo is a centre. BJ is a centre. Nofo is a winger. Mbye is the utility. Font need 6 utilitys in the team. We would come last.

Sure, agreed.
But we have:
BJ leilua
J Roberts
P Momo
Lining up for the center spot.
As well as T. Talou a Center on our Wing.

Were also aiming for S Cricheon from the Panthers (although possibily at fullback).

Yes players should specialise in their best position. We want Momo out on the field though and while he is talented he isnt pushing Roberts or BJ out at the moment. So I think we should train people just a little bit of utility here. I want our best 17 out on the field, we have gaps in Fullback and wing and a stack of Centers.

Great to see Tigers squad socialising at the beach.Jack Gibson was renown for getting his teams to mix off the field with regular bbqs for player and partners.Storm players, because of being in a one team town also spend a lot of time with each other .This creates a bond with the team mates ,and creates a good culture.A bit like the Muskaterrs -ONE FOR ALL,AND ALL FOR ONE. Go Tigers.

So? According to this logic we still have Joey Ratu running around next year. You realise the NRL controls those pages and no clubs page's have been updated yet?

It was in reply to someone saying Laurie's profile has been removed which has been said multiple times and is untrue.

That’s okay, not everyone can connect the dots....

It’s a bit disheartening knowing we have only 2 spots to fill with McIntyre and Seyfarth (ugh) reportedly re-signing. We need one of the last 2 spots filled by a big name.

The problem being there's not much avaiiable. We did extremly well with the players we bought. We must keep 1 spot in case Laurie comes and keep 1 up the sleeve to upgrade or buy .

I did notice nrl supetcoach still had Daine Laurie listed as a penrith player, in the past they have been quick to update

Can’t believe Brooks was given a 4 year contract, but then again he was halfback of the year the year prior so it is what it is. Poor kid has been stuffed around with no proper 5/8 or forward pack his entire career, hopefully he kicks on.

There is some players that need to be prioritised in that off contract list for 2022 (Simpkin, Talau) for starters.

They would probably want to up their value and play out the year though.

I have high hopes for Simpkin. Talau looked ok at wing/centre, not sure what’s installed for him in 2021.
Simpkin and Liddle will obviously be battling it out at hooker. If Simpkin's has a good start (like Harry did in 2020) I’d be trying to extend his contract asap.
