I think I can fix this statement up for you: @poopy_diaper is from Masonstan! I get where he is coming from, but I can't see it just yet. Great for Bula to have some competition pushing though.

An argument for Mason (or Turuva) over Bula at fullback is that it helps us to win jnow by getting our better players on the field. Bula was a centre at the GC before he came to us and my sense is that he’d be a top defensive centre who can also attack. Having that position locked down helps us to stop leaking tries and therefore win games. I liken it to Joey Manu at the Roosters. One can argue he’s as strong a fullback as Bula but by playing in the centres he was able to help the team while also establishing himself as one of the elite players in that position.

I love Bula, I expect a huge year from him. If it doesn't quite click for him at Fullback though, he would be an elite centre. Having Mason and Turuva nipping at his heels can only be a good thing for his development. Competition for places is something this team has lacked for years

Well done on the video format - came across well. It is great that you both look at things differently.
I loved the discussion on Benji's coaching ability. I agree that he has the leadership and man management side of the house covered and I also agree that this is 80% of the job. I think that he has also made the hard right decisions with Stefano, Bateman and ICE, despite having to take a chance on backfilling them. That takes moral courage because if we don't perfrom in the early rounds questions will be asked.
His, and is fellow staff's, ability to get select and impart the right tactics has yet to be seen, or realised. It will be an interesting few weeks as we try to gel. I suspect he was held back by the roster last year, but he also made some poor decisions along the way that he appears to have learnt from.

Good listen again guys. Big effort this week with a long podcast!
Hearing that Logan Brookes/Deninger likely out for the Balmain season is no good though. Was hoping we might have seen him in the next couple of weeks to push for finals. As you said, fingers crossed he gets a chance to appear for the Flegg boys later in the season. Do either of you boys know how long we have him contracted to the club for?

Reedie is joined by Smelma Bouvier (lung biscuit connoisseur, Joe McCord) and his trusty companion Mosley to review our Round 1 game against the Knights.
Were we that bad? Were we really any good? We don't know, but we try to come to a conclusion.
Reedie didn't want to talk about Lachlan Galvin, but Mac did, so we did that too. We also preview the game against the Eels (danger) and wrap five pathways grades.

Great couple of podcasts again fella's. Thanks for covering off the coaching. I think the weekend showed Benji is beginning to put his stamp on the team.
Bula looked wonderful. He may be a revelation in 25 playing off Luai and with a couple of wonderful wingers around him.
I reckon Luai îs going to get Benji's message out on the paddock to the boys during the game. The one thing with Luai is that message will come with a good dose of acid if anyone [This word has been automatically removed]s up.
