You asked for it, here it is

This is a good post. And not just because you referenced my brilliant mind in it haha.

Like I've said numerous times, if tigers were ever gonna lose Tedesco this is probably the best time to do it because there's plenty of quality players available as well as cap space to build a team.

Tigers have already made some good signings now while not earth shattering they are quality in matulino and mcqueen. Origin and international experience. And there will be more to come.

Fans can sit there and choose to have a cry about things but like I've said before, what are you really losing? No finals in 6 years and no finals with "the big 4" the last 3 years.

FYI I'm still of the belief Tedesco will stay.

Might have missed this but have Wests signed Matulino? Hope so.

I dont know what you are basing Teddy staying on, but I hope you are right, Woods can leave, for the dollars he can get elsewhere we can get 2 good forwards.

Basing it on what I've been told prior to this week and also that he will be sacrificing the best part of 600k to leave and play elsewhere.

Overall, no club has tabled a bigger offer to Tedesco then the tigers have.

I had a look through the nsw cup team lists, nrl benches and qrl teams this mooring and there are a few guys floating around who have shown a bit of quality. You could build a very decent squad that would at the very least be better defenders than our current lot.

If the club can have a goal of averaging 3 tries or less a game by the end of 2018 or 2019 our chances of making the 8 will be high enough to break the J curve.

Good perspective…TBH Woods will not be a lose, for $1m we can buy 2 good mid tier players who combined will bring more to the team than Woods will ever bring..>As for Tedesco he is a once in a lifetime player whom I hope we can keep and build a good team around him and Brooks over the next 3-4 years...Teddy just stay!!

Cleary was hired to do a job.He was hoping to keep Woods and Tedesco but according to the rumours that wont happen so what you have left is a complete rebuild with a balanced team.I would hope that very few of the other players off contract will be here next year.
Cleary has a difficult job but hopefully he can make it happen. We need astute purchases to rectify our glaring faults not pensioners coming here for their superannuation as we have done too many times in the past.

We shouldn't be signing up pensioners but we shouldn't be scared of signing experienced players either. They're often the guys that know how to compete over 80 minutes. Everyone wants to sign a player like Wade Graham who is sitting flush in his prime so you're going to pay through the nose for him. Luke Lewis a year or two ago though **should** have been over the hill, but he's been one of Cronulla's best. If we are going through another rebuild then we need to put some experienced bones in place. Players that command some respect in the dressing room and on the field.

We currently have the most unfit players, physically and mentally. Even our so called superstars havent got us playing finals football, and from all their media talk they definitly blame everyone but themselves. They have conducted themselves without class or integrity throughout this whole process. These arent the type of characters you want to build a team or future around. Lets build a team of players as Ivan said you want to play with. I hope the cleanout doesn't just stop with the big 4, but also fringe players that shouldnt be in first grade such as naiqama, lovett, rankin..etc..

Although Teddy might be on 600k more with us, the Roosters will be tabling a large TPA Package to match the money we have offered.

This is where Harry (Meriton) Needs to kick in - interesting how he's vanished in all the equations….

Brooks made the smart choice.

The other three are leaving because they didn't get the coach/boys club they wanted.

Matulino wasn't great last season , don't know of it was injuries or not , but easily his worst season in grade

You honestly reckon Roosters can mobilise an extra $600K on top of whatever TPAs they are already paying out for current players?

It's probably a big well over there but it's not bottomless.

I just got word through a contract. Harry has been signed as the Roosters new mascot. Nick has offered him Bondi beach as a development site.

I've heard don smallgoods is next.

You only have to look at what Sticky has done at the Raiders to have some real hope about the future. He was in a very similar position, the club had invested heavily in Milford only to have him knock back a massive deal and move onto the Brooks, than they tried to entice some big money recruits, Ennis,Proctor and Teddy only to have them back flip at the last minute, so he turned to tough hard journeymen. They are now a real contender. Cleary is the coach who can do a Sticky but it may take 3 years to re build the joint

Hi Everyone. I am a new member here. I am a Wests Tigers supporter (formerly a Magpie fan), but I do not live, eat or breathe football as many of you might do. So I am sure I am not as well versed as most on this forum. But I am going to put in my two bobs worth and suggestions re possible future players.

Firstly, I personally feel both Woods and Tedesco are gone. I do not see any sense in bagging them. The club just needs to move on, make some good decisions and hopefully better days are ahead.

Here are players that I believe are off contract at the end of the year who I think might be worth considering.

Backs: Chambers, Aaron Gray, Kurt Mann, Peter Mata'utia, Lachlan Croker, Townsend, Mitch Cornish,
Jacks, Dane Gagai, Feldt, Mead, Taufua.

Forwards: Felise Kaufusi, Pulu, Stockwell, Tagataese, Asofa-Solomona, Bolton, Lillyman, Mannering.

Who of these do you consider we could re-build the team with to be competitive and to play finals?

I didn't ask..thanks anyway…

So another few watershed breakthrough clean out re-building no wait re-engineering years ahead....woooooot

You forgot to add that at the end of it it will be time for a new coach.

No more excuses.Tigers need to get it together and start winning some games.

If there is one thing Italians like more than pasta, its $$$.

If the $600k figure over 4 years is true, i can't see how teddy could say no to that.

Unless of course there is the possibility of under the table $$$ handed over in red, white, and blue envelopes. Then the rumors make more sense.

Said it once and I'll say it again, its moneyball and we are exactly the same as the Oakland As were. Instead of looking for the flashy players, we need to find the guys who are value. Something we have never done before. Not paying overs is the start along with a coach who doesn't gives a rats about what others think.
