You want them Replaced but with WHOM?

I never ceased to be amazed by the Forum Poster's that demand/call for the sacking of Tiger players who are out of form e.g. **Marshal**l who gets more calls to get rid of him than any other player in the West"s Tigers history (though Daniel Fitzhenry and now Adam Blair may give him a run for his money). Then of cause we have had regular calls for Ayshford, Lawrence and now there is an emphasis on Galloway who is out injured.
Everyone has a right to throw in their 20 cents worth of speculation but what has fascinated me through all the bagging is that no-one has nominated better players who could replace them not only within the club but even if we had an open Cheque Book players from without the club? The Toyota Cup kids may down the track be champions but the step up to NRL separates the men from the boys and we have seen that at this stage it is too early,
If the Tigers released Marshall, Galloway, Lawrence & Ayshford and of course let us not forget Adam Cyril Blair then other clubs would be knocking each other out of the way trying to sign any of the above? The Tigers players injured and out of form can play their way back to form but I am sure most people agree that the forward pack minus Galloway are Pussycats. Players like Marshall, Ayshford, Lawrence, Sironen, Koribete and little Tedesco would have a **field day playing behind the big Souths pack of forwards.**

Obviously 2013 is a lost cause for Finals footy and with Adam Blair not able to prove his worth and Pettybourne, Anasta, Bodene Thompson, BMW and Buchanan are not anywhere near the talent or skill of Fifita, Gibbs, Heighnington and Gareth Ellis who have either moved on or the Tigers let them go. The Tigers back-line are currently just fodder for the opposition teams and as my topic suggests there are NO replacement players available within the club to replace them unless you are happy to witness 40 plus scores against each week.

It is up to the Coaching Staff to snap our highly paid players back into form and if we can get a fair break with injuries in the 2nd part of the season then maybe we can off-load the Wooden Spoon and start to re-build for 2014 and beyond?

I don't agree with the no depth in the back line. We have a few very solid players in nsw cup and u20's that are about to be ready to make the step up.
If we go buying a new back line because you think it will make us better for 1-2 years then in 2 years time you will be crying that we aren't holding on to all our up and comers.
It's about building a culture for our forward pack and getting the most out of the big guys we have coming back from injury

Ayshford hasnt been going too bad, but Lawrence has been replaced or could be by either Simona or Reddy, which is sad to say as they are both currently out playing him and shows his massive decline post injury. If you disagree, then Pat Richards in the centres, Koro and Nofo wings…. future looks grim for Lawrence which is a shame.

Benji, unless he signs on preferential terms for the club he can go jump. 20 mins of brilliance every 3rd or 4th game isnt worth monster money. We will be as good if not better off if a pair of halves can be found between Brooks, Moses and Sirro, and most likely the pairing worth combined what Marshall is asking a season.

Anasta is only signed for one more season if memory serves me well, so his is a caretaker roll until Brooks and co. are ready.

Galloway, well he does alot of dirty work, but he doesnt do it all that well seeing as he runs tall into collision thus is held up for slow play the ball. If he is asking overs let him go. Hasnt had a good run with injury, and isnt worth big dollars because of it. Props come cheap, and we havent even tried Groat or Gavet this year to see how they fit, but if Sauce rejected the first offer then he may be asking high, if he is he can be replaced from within if not a more sensible option elsewhere. Woods seems to be capable of filling the senior prop role well beyond his years.

People seem confused with what the club is trying to do. We dont need to buy a premiership team, we most likely couldnt if we tried. What we do need to do is take advantage of the long term platform we invested in and promote from within, kicking the rot to the curb as we go. Unfortunately we have alot of dead wood on long contracts. The likes of Anasta and Richards are signings to help steward the kids through the times of little experience, dont be fooled thinking otherwise. We are presently sussing out those already in the system, which should be cheaper, before looking elsewhere to fill the last gaps. In honestly we are long term looking good compared to alot of other clubs, we just have to suck it up.

We may not need to buy a team , but there are positions that we can't adequately cover that we will need just to be competitive

Prop Centre and second row are the biggies as far as I'm concerned

Then once we have a competitive forward pack our backs will have no excuses ,it will be sink or swim

I do kind of agree with the OP. Certain players have been made to look worse in a side depleted. A successful side always starts with a strong and confident pack. From their the halves can find the space and the backs reap the rewards. It's something we haven't had all year. Partly due to the injuries but it would also be fair to suggest our pack is missing at least one big bopper. I think a pack containing Galloway, Woods and improved Blair should be more than capable. Buchanan obviously needs some size but his attributes appear we have another keeper there. That extra big guy may come from Groat or Ava or possibly even Sue, but with those 3 we're talking at least another 12 months down the track.

I don't think we need to go out and buy players. We do though need to get rid of players like Blair that we are paying overs too. I think we can get a good team out on the paddock over the next couple of years if we don't hammer ourselves with dumb financial decisions.

Benji to me is a keeper. Last week showed how important he is to us. I'd like to keep Galloway as well. I don't think either players though should be paid overs.

I think Blair at prop can go well for us but we can't resign this guy. He has to be the guy to drop off to give us some more money to upgrade our juniors that come in and perform. I wouldn't trade him now though. I think we need to simply let him serve out his time with us and hopefully start performing.

The thing is not all the juniors will perform. I think Miller is a classic example. He had plenty of chances and never had a big game. Sirro last week gave us a big game. Tedesco hasn't given us a big game yet but to me he has shown that he has the ability to kick on.
