YOUR 2025 WST Lineup

I think Fainu has to be in the 17 in 2025. Whether it is to give a rest to the 9 or 13 and cover for the 7, 6, 3, and 4. We cannot have both TDS and Fainu on the bench and carry Hunt as one of the two forwards, in my opinion.
So one of our spine who will need a rest every week will be Api.
Any games he plays longer then 55-60 minutes we will lose.
TDS has done his time and is a worthy replacement. You want Fainu, a half, to jump him and be used in that role?
We need a proper halfback if we are to win the comp in a few years time. Latu will likely be that guy should we develop him properly. Luai is a running 5/8 who’ll fill the gap until the time comes to move him to his natural position. Galvin will be re-skilled as well.
Any football Latu plays out of position will slow this down for mine. He needs to pilot the KOE Cup team to glory as the halfback. He will sharpen his skills and become a leader and this will serve the NRL side greatly in 26/27.

So, are you suggesting we carry both on the bench? I was talking 2025. A few is 3 so I assume you are talking 27/28. Considering the half time break, I would hope we could get away with Api resting a shorter time than what you're suggesting.
As I stated, it was my opinion. In your opinion, who would be on your bench.

TDS. He is the proper replacement at 9 and he is using that experience to develop him for his future role as full time Hooker.
Yes, we won’t be a proper contender until 27.

Untill Bateman leaves , he has to be in the , just for his defence, and I would give fainu a crack as a centre , his defence is good he has quick feet and speed

It's a tough one re Latu Fainu at centre. I probably lean more to @Tucker that for Latu's long-term development for us & himself consistent reps in the halves in Cup over the 1st half of '25 is better than out of position or on the bench in NRL.

But I am kind of torn as I know what ability he has and he could slot into the centres & be better than what we currently have. As you mentioned, Latu has that quick turnover in his legs, acceleration, is deceptively powerful & has very good defence.

So, is there a prize for guessing the correct 17?
WTF Nostradamus of the year award?
Did anyone pick last years first 17?

Api will be out for R1 right?

Is this a 'predict the 2025 starting team' or a 'what is your starting 13' type thread? Because they are not the same IMO.

What I THINK will happen:

1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. Olam
4. Doueihi
5. Turuva
6. Galvin
7. Luai
13. Bird
12. Samuela Fainu
11. Seyfarth
10. Klemmer
9. Koroisau
8. May

14. Da Silva
15. Hunt
16. Pole
17. Twal/Sione Fainu

What I would do..

1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. Olam
4. Bird
5. Turuva
6. Latu Fainu
7. Luai
13. Twal
12. Sam Fainu
11. Galvin
10. Klemmer
9. Koroisau

I'd love to see if Latu could handle centre defensively. If he did get a go, he'd have two strong runners on the wings and Olam to do the tough carries early in the sets.

What could we lose , we gave Galvin a go and look how that turned out , if u don’t try u will never know

Would solve a few issues. Also give TDS more games coming off the bench..and maybe Heath Mason more opportunities not having to compete with both Latu and TDS for a bench position

Not sure there’s enough coverage for a second row injury in that side, Bird off the bench gives you that option without disrupting the backline. Second row depth will be a much talked about weakness until we address it.

It’s been a problem we’ve debated on here for years and years.
