Well, can you believe it's less than 24 hours until the round one team is announced. I think the team more or less picks itself. The only question is the exact composition of the backrow (11 to 13) and who starts on the bench.

It looks like Sitaleki and Buchanan may miss out. Cherrington and Liolevave will come into play in later rounds (depending on form and injury).

It's not a particularly experienced starting 17, but we have all our best/key players available (except Nofo), albeit some short of match fitness.

I'm just happy 2014 is over and we can at least have some hope of a far better showing this year. If our defense is a top 8 defense after 26 rounds I think we make the finals. It is a big if, given the last two years, but I think it is a simple proposition. If Teddy, Farah, Brooks and Moses play plenty of football, I'm confident we have enough points in us.

I think it's been far too long for tigers fans to see a five eighth who passes when he is supposed to; kick when he is supposed to and run when he is supposed to. And not pass to row 13 in the grandstand or miss touch on a penalty. He is doing what he needs to do.

He has been exceptional in the lower grades and already won a man of the match in his 8th first grade game? I see the hype.

I would definitely 'like' this post if I could, but alas the 'like' button is gone! lol.

I think you hit the nail on the head, ts - we haven't had a conventional five eighth for so long, we've lost sight of what an effective, team playing pivot actually looks like! It's been hard for us to see beyond the Benji years, he was such and unconventional and often exciting number 6\. However, during his last few seasons with us, many of us were praying for a five eighth, who would just play a proper five eighth's role for once! Now we finally have him, time to enjoy it I reckon. It will only get better :stuck_out_tongue:
