Gamble is very popular on these forums. Surprised some people dont have him in 3 positions

Totally agree.
Luckily Ivan's running the show, which means Gamble won't get a look in until he ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING.
Notice all the Luke Brooks haters have all gone quite.

I wouldn’t say that people who don’t like Brooks are “haters”, they’re just people who expected him to be better than serviceable. That’s a fair expectation given he’s started so many games over the years for us. His form has been average for a few years now (by my count 2015-2017). He’s started showing some promise again this year though.

This would be my team.

If Tui and Liddle are ready
Tui to 1, Thompson to 2, Fonua out.
Gamble to 6
Liddle to 17, Godinet out

In this team is Aloiai an interchange for one of the front rowers? Eisenhuth goes to 10, Rochow to 13 and Aloiai to right edge?
Or is Packer, Matulino and Twal sharing the 2 positions for the game?
I think Cleary had the same pack last week but he didn't get to use them how he wanted because of concussions and injuries etc.

I can hear IC talking with him now on the phone…..

Even before the season started I thought our key weaknesses were pretty obvious - D/H, one quality secondrower and one centre, speed on the wing and a goal kicker. These are still the shortcomings of our squad and hopefully we will move to address these down the track. In the meantime we need to get Liddle back and test him out one way or another - if that doesn't work I think MM has earnt the spot over Godinet and we need to stop running them both and taking up bench space. We must do something about goal kicking urgently.
As for wing and centre - neither Milne or Fonua have shown enough to take away spots from Kev or MWZ/Noffa. As for the back row - once again the other options of McQueen or Sue are not playing well enough to oust Lawrence from the 17 who will remain there at least whilst ET is injured. Aloiai or MCK should probably start however with Lawrence back to the bench playing less minutes.

Sorry we need some changes

Thompson
Noffo
Milne
Marsters
Lolo
Brooks
Eisenhuth
Rochow
MCK
Mats
MC
Parker

Interchange

Aloiai
Twal
Grant or JJ Feilse
Gamble

Assuming Marshall, Reynolds and Taylor are out injured

Kevin and Lawrence are not NRL standard even though they give 100%

Even though Milne is playing worse in ISP than Kev is in NRL

Great logic. Change for change sake eh!

thats why I am liking Ivan. i did not get it, till we saw it.
No fancy names, they earn their spot.
Kevie and Lawrence at 100% is so much better then Milne, Tedesco, Moses, Suli or anyone giving 50%

Were winning games with a B grade side against the top 4\. Penrith made the quarter finals on their B side and Cowboys got there without JT and Scott! Thats a winning culture and a team culture worth more then any Moylan or other superstar.

Make one change at a time and see if it works.
Since Marshall is out Tui to 5, otherwise no changes. Next week see if Liddle can go hooker off the bench. unsure to start Mck or Godinet. Founa and Milne can earn their place or sign elsewhere.

100% right Colmcd…couldn't agree more with your opinion on the value of positive culture effort and the sheer desire to win in sport (or anywhere else for that matter).

Aloiai should spend some time in reserves. Playing very ordinary. Does not seem fit and drops the ball a lot.

Sue or Felise in the team and about time both Fonua and Gamble given a go. Let's see what happens. I remember people on this forum saying that Twal was not ready. Good judges all.

He's played one game since returning from injury, in which he was playing fairly well previous to that injury. You can't be serious…

"ordinary"

Snippet from https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2018/03/26/selection-decisions-loom-for-wests-tigers-eels/

Tuimoala Lolohea (knee) and Jacob Liddle (shoulder) are also closing in on their returns from injury and could take the field in Round 4, with Josh Reynolds (hamstring) and Elijah Taylor (hamstring) also potential inclusions over the next few weeks for Wests Tigers.

Yep, good idea. Let's drop one of the only players that seems to consistently bend the opposition's defensive line.
