Im hopeful @Earl is correct.

AD and Hastings by 2023.

Brooks, gone.

??

I'm not stating it will definitely happen but Hastings and Douieihi will be pushing for halves spots.

Doueihi has just gotta get back on the field first.

I reckon Doueihi is our best player but he has a lot to work on his game. He needs to get back on the field and show he is a top performer.

On paper for round 1 I'd look at this:

1 Laurie
2 Maumalo
3 Gildart
4 Kepaoa/Roberts
5 Nofa
6 Hastings
7 Brooks
8 Stefano
9 Liddle
10 Twal
11 Blore
12 Luciano
13 Peachey

14 Simpkin
15 Garner
16 Mikaele
17 Musgrove/Seyfarth/Joffa

Lots of unknowns, as always it'll come down to who trains and trials the best.

I'd say pretty good chance this is the rnd 1 team. The 14 is probably the spot most in doubt, wonder if having peachy will mean madge will actually carry two hookers, I think it's the right call. I can also see Garner not being in the 17

you put him in with a rugby convert Tupou.

Tupou is from a league background. He was picked to represent NSW under 16s and under 18s, and he was in the Raiders junior system. The Brumbies poached him from league. And he then marched straight into the junior Wallabies. The bloke has talent.

Good feedback mate, I obviously didn't know that.
Is there blog on him, have you got the article?
My point is simply that until he gets his feet grounded I wouldn't put him in a backline that's also cutting they're teeth and that goes for Asu Kepaoa as he gets lost at times.
I did say in earlier posts that Tupou could be a bolter but not too early.

I read it here mate:

PS Cobar is a nice town.

1. Lauire
2. Nofo
3. To'a/Tupou
4. Gildart
5. King Ken
6. Brooks
7. Hastings (C)
8. Stefano
9. Simpkin
10.Twal
11.Blore
12.Luch
13.Peach
14.Liddle
15.Musgrove
16.Garner 17.Seyfarth

Yep I read that, subconsciously thinking more like his adult playing days but your right.
He should be good to go with the fundamentals but I imagine there would be drills and plays he would have to get used to.
I haven't seen him in photos, could be injured, covid??
Yes Cobar rocks. I was born in Bourke but dad got a job in the Cobar mines. Hot place but people are friendly. Rugby League is tough out there playing on gravel 🙂

Yes you're right they breed them tough in Cobar (and Bourke). I'm from the west too. My father always played on gravel as well and used to say how soft players are these days for playing on grass haha.

Doesn't matter who we have in the halves. This side has big problems in the forwards. It's extremely hard to manage a game when your forwards struggle to make manageable ground metres and always allow the opposition to finish sets deep in our own half. Also an extremely significant lack of speed/strength in our outside backs that means a half-break/overlap is stopped pretty much instantly.

Brooks was one of our better players in patches last year. In otherwise, I'll be sad & disappointed to see him depart. Him leaving will be best interest for himself.

I agree.

Brooks has faults, but our pack should have won some clinch games:
Tommy's funeral.
Last game us vs Cronulla with our chance to make the 8. Cronulla had Tolman and another out, we had Tamou out. They thrashed us.

Our front row is big, but soft.

Laurie
Nofo/star
Gil/roberts
Junior/kepoa
Mams
Douhie
Hastings/Brooks
Stef
Liddle/Simpkin
Twal
Blore
Ll/tualagi
Seyfarth/peachy

Mikaele
Musgrove/Tamou
Joffa
Simpkin

Not sold on some spots hence 2 players in same position will see how it all unfolds

AD reported that he's back running today...
