Your team for round 1 2011

So, now that we sadly know that the Tank won't be there for round 1… despite us all probably praying to what ever god we worship, how does that change the lineup for you? Moltz coming back still poses a problem as to where to fit him.

For me, I would push Blake to the Wing and put Moltz in centre. Blake isn't the biggest passer of the ball anyway.

Benny Elias was on the big sports breakfast a couple of weeks ago (I think it was bsb) and when asked about Tim Moltzen he said hes looking great, packed on a few extra kgs and will be playing halfback.
Whether that means Lui will be on the bench or elsewhere i dont know. But from what he said it would appear Moltzen will wear the 7 not Lui.
 
Will be good to see lui in the team in some capacity. But I don't think he could really slot into any position besides the 6 or 7 at the moment. The only reason why moltz wouldn't be @7 us because he is more versatile and if sheens wants both in the team.
 
With Farah roaming out of dummy half and playing as an extra half it could become a case of too many chefs if Lui is also in the side.

I also think Payten should retire after this year, time to blood BMM/Jason Shirnack etc
 
We'll see how Mullaney goes during the trials. If McKinnon gets injured during the trials or doesn't play well then I wouldnt be suprised to see Brown at fullback.

Strong starting team but Payten is on board for next year as well. As for Schirnack, I doubt we'll see him in FG this year unless the team gets bombarded with injuries.

what i like about that team is that its a very "realistic team" in terms of what will probably trot out against the dogs in round one.

Many will argue its not our best team, however I think this is what sheens will run out with as well.

I feel bad for Flanagan - he looks a solid player and I rate him, however seems like with the young talent shining, he's not getting much of a looking on wtf. He'll prob become one of those players who will look for opportunity elsewhere, due to our depth, and wouldn't surprise me if someone like Parramatta picks him up for 2012…
