Keeping in mind that defence is 50% of the game - does anyone calling for Moltz to usurp Ayshford at centre sincerely believe he has the defensive capacity to man-up on the likes of Inglis, Hodges, Gasnier, Cooper, Tonga, Lyon, Matai, Morris, Idris, Sau, Kenny-Dowall, Champion etc…..?

I think Beau played great at fullback last year in general (except 1 bad game) and it really is his position - i think the problem has been he sint a winger
McKinnon looked good at times but also made quite a few errors and his pace has deserted him

IMO Ayshford was hardly a rock in defence last year in the centres, i remember him getting beaten easily by his opposite on a few occasions. I reckon Moltz could easily adjust to handling defending in the centres, at least at the same level as Ayshford last year.
Now compare the two combos with the ball, its a complete knockout for the Moltzen/Ayshford partnership.
I see no negative defensively compared to what we had last year but plenty of upside with the ball if we went with the Moltzen/Ayshford combo on the right hand side.

^That is almost exactly the side I'd go with helmesy.
I don't mind Beau too much, I think he's a solid player without being anything special. But Tagive looks like a monster athlete and I'd love to see him given a go. That's going to be very unlikely for round 1 I'd say, especially since he hasn't been given a go against the Roosters this weekend… which is just wrong on so many levels. I hope he forces himself into the team early in the season though. I was gutted to lose Peni, but Ratu looks the goods.

I jsut watched the Beau tryn you tube vid and forgot how good he can be. i think he and Lote should be our wingers for round 1 if ryan is fit.
