I'm still of the belief if we have Halatau in the side to give Robbie a break I'd rather Cherrington in the 17

Agree that Cherrington is the better DH, however it is only 10 minutes and Halatau offers a bit more coverage and he will perform other roles as well as his 10 minute stint at DH. CHerrington doesnt offer the other roles.

No reason Farah couldn't play lock and have an extra attacking option in the side for a small amount of time

If Manaia gets space and scoots from dummy half it would create loads of space for the Farah and the halves to create for the backline

You could really work over the bigger sides with those tactics

isnt the point of halatau/manaia playing 9 to give robbie a break?

Farah is at his peak,

Play him as long as he is effective and the others will get their chance

PS - Back off Halatau, he is a solid player and great bloke.

If it wasn't a one off with Robbie going off due to the heat (which i think it was) then having Taupau starting at lock with Robbie at hooker makes some sense. When Taupau goes off Halatau can come on at lock, then Robbie goes off Halatau moves to hooker and Santi comes on at lock. Provides a strong rotation IF we needed to rest Robbie.

Otherwise why de we have 2 back rowers on the bench? Is Sirro and Sue are apparently 80 minute players, and we're starting a prop at lock, having two locks/backrowers on the bench doesn't make much sense.

I think the team will be as per last week with Lawrence replacing Lovett being the only change.

Farah at Lock… 😱pen_mouth: ..Is that you Tim...

Once Farah came back on after 9mins Halatau shifted to the backrow on the right....Cherrington would be wasted ATM.....He would need at least 20 to 30mins game time to be effective of the interchange...I would much rather he continue to work on his game in State Cup in the meantime increasing his minutes there...his time will come....

Yep a 10 minute break , but to get the best out of Manaia you want him to play at least 20 minutes

So when Robbie gets picked for SOO your going to play Manaia with no experience at NRL level ??

That's a Sheenius move Geo

He needs to be getting some small match scenarios at NRL level asap in my opinion

Farah needs to play 80 minutes

My NRL fantasy team will suffer otherwise

He scored well vs the Titans considering he was taken off for a spell .

Must be something JT is trying to do with him to avoid Season burnout ?

Where did I say that Tim….right now stability in the team ie putting the same one on the park is more important....A month out from Origin different story.....but moving Farah to Lock to accommodate Manaia is Dumb....

I wouldn't be moving one of the best hookers in the game to accommodate the three matches he won't play. Hopefully the team won't be hinging on Cherrington having a blinder for the team to nab a win like they've done years in the past with Farah.

nah happy, normally youre on point but i think you might be overcomplicating it here

farahs getting a bit old and still has SOO. give him a 10-20minute break and put in manaia closer to origin at hooker. hopefully after 2-3 weeks he'll be ready to play around 60minutes (80 is way too big an ask) and he can share that with halatau.

we have many fast players that can play off some nice dummy half runs from cherrington, teddy, simona, brooks, moses etc.

I reckon by Round 8 every team will have a back up hooker on the bench

That's the new direction the game is going , teams will double up with their dummy halves getting late into halves of footy to get there teams on the front foot

Every hooker I've seen asked about the new rule changes is commenting on the extra space around the ruck now

If that's the case Happy, we are fortunate to have Cherrington in our squad.
Still. After round 1 Robbie looks to be keeping up. I'd have DH on the bench as he can cover Robbie for 10 mins and play other positions as well as Hooker.
With the other three on the bench I would have two straight out props and one that can either play prop or second row (ie, Sue).
