Really freaken stupid. I get they are young and stupid and I get that most of us have done dumb things especially the Queenslanders amongst us but at some point you have to recognize you are a professional sportsperson and you have to play the game by the rules.

Im going to have to give you guys and gals a little professional insight into some of these incidents that happen no matter if you play NRL are a bricky or a welder....THE governing laws re RSA(responsible service of alchol)is you can be refused service if you are deemed to be intoxicated, cause or disrupt other customers or become aggressive while consuming alcohol....
Now I would just like to say that these signs are plastered all over the entrances and within the premises in clear view of patrons....if people cant read or understand those rules then maybe they should not even attempt to enter a place that sells alcohol and stay at home...
Im saying this because if your just turned 18 or your 70,the OLGR(office of liquor gaming and racing )has spent a great deal of time money and resources to educate the population on theses LAWS..they are not to be taken lightly, not only can the offending customer be heavily fined the premises can be fined and lose their license...Im not bagging either of these boys, but, education in this particular area may assist in the future for them...

I was once kicked out of Coogee Bay Hotel for my dancing - it was so bad the bouncer assumed I was completely wasted. I argued that I'd only just had my first beer, but he wouldn't have that at all haha.

Stay off the drink guys. Obviously can't handle it.

The irony of this post coming from “Cleanskin” can not be passed by. You may be uniquely qualified to comment

Great to see the DT can’t get the pictures correct. They put Tommy Talau’s image as AJ in the story.

They are supposed to be the official paper of the NRL. Must have been Slothfield at the Coogee Bay the cops were looking for.

Shame they don’t learn especially Musgrove who should never go to the Coogee Bay again.

Well let's hope Madge drags them over the coals for getting themselves into that position in the 1st place
And will hopefully not consider either of them for at least the 1st round
Its a real shame
These two have let the team down and they should front their team mates to apologise for their actions

We need all of our players to be 100% focused for the year ahead
We dont need disruptions like this 1 month before kick off
And certainly don't want to give the media a negative news story about the club to run with

Dumb Dumb Dumb

What I always think is so stupid is the players risking their career for the stupidest stuff.... like you're living the dream life being a footy player and you risk getting in trouble over not leaving the pub and getting drunk? Not worth the risk 😂

Most footballers can't handle there drink mainly because there not seasoned drinkers and suppose to be professional athletes. This incident although not too serious still paints the club in a bad light as they are representing the WT's.

Good thing is that a wake up call for the rest of the playing group. I will add this Musgrove has been on trouble prior you would think he would learn?

lets hope we don't see any more negative press leading into the season and in reality both players should now be excluded from round 1 as a deterrent for the rest of the season, they do get mentored on acceptable behavior and should know when to go home.

If was Tommy would be asking the DT for compensation relating to false reporting of his image.

Surely excluding players for copping a fine is a bit much. They made what looks like a very minor mistake, disrespected a cop or two and got fined accordingly. End of the matter imo.

Looks like the Nancy brigade are out for a kill ?
So non of you lot have ever been asked to leave an establishment while on the piss ..
Such Angel's.
we have amongst us ?

Yawn ?

It can literally be , you trip over a bar stool and the bouncer says “your done mate “ . And you might have just got there and had half a sip of a beer . Or you pissed off the bar staff , and they say get rid of this guy . I did that in Newtown , because I wouldn’t tip the bar staff . I said it wasn’t New York , and I got turfed 10 minutes later .

Did you refuse to leave and require cops to come to fine you for "refuse to leave?". That might be the difference. Yes that could happen after your first sip, so why would you want to hang around, there are plenty of places to buy a drink. To me you need to be pretty pissed to get to the point you need cops.

Nah , but when I say turfed , I mean the bouncer grabbed me as I was going into the toilet and wrist locked me into a wall.
Not sure if it was an over reaction , I mean it was a long time ago , and I was pretty pissed haha

Well not my decision but they know what the rules are and could have gone home quietly instead.
If excluded from Round 1 selection it does send a message to the rest of the playing group rather than do nothing.
They will get a spray from Madge maybe that's enough???

Telling a cop to go get stuffed , is hardly a new thing. I get it , they should be treated with respect , but at the end of the day , if you can’t handle someone yelling some bull at you, and that’s your line of work , you need to find another one. That job , and an ambo, you need to have a thick skin.

Sounds like they refused to leave the pub and got fined. It's stupid but not much to worry about as long as they don't do anything worse in the future. Would be very surprised if they miss any games for it

Probably, but its next level stupidity, particularly Musgrove. To get to the point you refuse to leave, there needs to be high level of inebriation. That in itself at this stage of the pre-season is disappointing.

In their defense I’ve been out having a good night for some special occasion or another and out of nowhere, boom, security decides your times up. It can be frustrating when you know you’re fine from an RSA perspective and you are separated from your mates and told to call it a night. At 3am though it was probably time to call stumps.

Wasn’t that the same pub that Musgrove was at when he was charged with criminal offences and stood down?

That was after previous domestic violence charges were downgraded wasn’t it?

He sounds like an absolute tool who should be steering well clear of the drink.

Didn’t someone suggest that he was looking to become a leader in the club?

I'm pretty sure it is. He should stop going there

Definitely . It’s hard one ,as I imagine I saying everything I just said , there would be a siege mentality with the police l especially in the wake of the George Floyd stuff , the marching last year , the Curtis Scott stuff , the guy who was flogged at the SFS , it would be understandable if some of the older ones who’d been in the job a few years , started to forget that the people they’re protecting , can also be the people they are going after . It would be pretty easy to not view civvies as humans , and as the enemy .

Yeah without knowing all the back story I’ll just say that it’s not high up on the scale of atrocities. Storm and Broncos players copped a whack with a feather duster for much worse last off season.
