[2022] If Madge goes, who you have as a replacement?

John Morris with a focus on junior development and give him three seasons to work it out. Whoever was in charge of the Sharks getting them from demise of Flanagan to the rebuilt unit today needs to be recruited by us.

I think Madge was given a rough situation but he had a fair chance. to at least create something that shows a bit of promise.
He is working wonders as assistant at souffs.

Kimmorley, Gardiner, Farah...

Anyone else at this point.
As long as Brooks gets the chop top.

We are not the Sharks. We don’t have the success of the lower grades like Newton did with their team and the HM and SG ball sides before. We don’t have big strong speedsters like Sione Katoa, Ronaldo Mulitalo and Will Kennedy in our lower grades that are blitzing the competition. The only decent looking lower grade players are Rua, Perry and Ogden and all three would be far from ready. The cattle is just not there. And you all saw how our ‘talented youngsters’ matched up to Manly’s crop of talented youngsters.
I often joke but we are 10 years off being a consistent finalist team and maybe 5 years off jagging a spot every year or so like Manly and the Raiders do.

Whoever it is will be a lamb to the slaughter. It’s a club issue, not a coaching issue. He’s definitely not perfect, but a change of coach won’t bring a change in fortune.

Ask sheens

Although I suspect the club are secretly begging sheens to coach.

If the club hopes that Sheens coaches us then the management of the club is even worse than i think and believe me i think our management is diabolical. It would be as crazy as designing a new bow and arrow for all our defence forces to use instead of firearms

A new coach will make no difference this season. We have an absolute dud roster.

If we did punt Madge, we need to take a long term view.

Personally I think Farah as coach would be a good move. Young enough to know what works tactically and a club legend.

If he was to go :

I normally wouldn't go for a person coaching in England but Kristian Woolf has been coaching Tonga since 2014 - so I go with him if he can access a Tongan player pipeline

Someone outside the box and I doubt he would do it - Cooper Cronk - every team he has been associated with wins

Melbourne and Roosters ?

Lol

Normally I would agree but that performance yesterday looked more attitude than skill, which was still poor. I could tell from the first set of six we were doomed just by the enthusiasm of the Knights and our lack of go forward. I don’t think they are listening to Madge anymore and I don’t think he is right for the modern game, fresh ideas are needed and that‘s not Madge.

Yeah idk if rookie coach what we need or Flanagan

He played in 9 grand finals in 16 years so you would like to think he picked up something from Bellamy and Robinson. You know players would come to play for him

Just this time if hiring a coach - don't hire someone who got punted from their last role because the players wanted him gone

Basing on his commentary I'd give this a miss.
Not that it'd ever be a realistic option anyway.

We have our own Cronk in the ranks anyway with Kimmorley.

So,

11 years: 5 coaches, 3 of them premiership winners (2 in this decade)

Now even if we fire this coach, what sucks is that it's going to be Mr 49% Tim Sheens in charge of picking the next one. He's a great innovator and reader of the game, but he's an epitome of this club: below average. No issue being below average, but for how long can you be below average?

More alarmingly though:
3 or 4? Football managers
4 different CEOs
3 chairmen/women
2 or 3 complete board overhauls

And still...
0 finals

I asked this question 3 years ago, what is the final straw? Let's say we go 15 years without finals, does the club survive in the NRL? The only reason this club is still in the NRL is because of us fans who continue to click on WT articles and watching their games. We are nothing but a clickbait machine for Fox, Nine, SMH, DT and the NRL.

The only people who can be somewhat proud of this whole fiasco is us Fans who have somehow stuck solid. At this point, kicking us out of the comp would feel like a sweet relief.

The click bait comment - ain't that true!
And a lot of your comments about past history rings true too, but I do not and cannot agree with any notion of kicking us out of the comp.
Even yesterday had moments of OK (in defense), despite the horrible stats
We can pick ourselves up and do better, but remember Sheens was only brought in late last year, the pathways is being revamped, coaching streamlines across the grades has only just started, the players are what we have for the moment - changes will come, experience will come, results will come, confidence will come.

The crazy thing is how many fans the Tigers still have. I read the game against the Storm was highest rating regular season game in Fox history - imagine if we actually made the semis!!
