After 4 rounds Daine Laurie was ranked equal for try assists with,
Tedesco, Hynes, Papenhuyzen, and Manu.

For a player who is less experienced than these players.
In a underperforming team.
That's not a bad effor,t is it?

The squad is just not good enough with or without Maguire. Bulldogs spent a fortune on players we would be over the moon to have signed and can guarantee their supporters are screaming for the coach to be sacked - just like St George Broncos Newcastle Raiders all with better squads than ours and fans with expectations that arent being met. No easy fix until we find some way to assemble a better squad.

The commonality with the Bulldogs and Wests Tigers is both teams are poorly coached.

No where near as many, their teams win games of football due to their efforts. Laurie is a disinterested reserve grade standard bum. Huge difference.

Laurie has had a poor start but he is far and away the best fullback option we have. Unfortunately though, his playing style will never 'dominate' in a team like ours. Small bodied fullbacks like him really only dominate behind a really good pack. Our pack can't offload or put him through gaps etc, or get quick play the balls.

He also has no good options to hit from a play making perspective. Whats he going to do, hit a flying Seyfarth steaming onto the ball at 100km an hour?

Spot on mate... You put him into a top 4 team that has players that care he would be doing wonders.

IMO He’s a confidence player down on confidence. He has some natural ability and skills but hasn’t learned the art of fullback in attack or defence.

I felt our team got a lot worse and became a lot less threatening with Laurie not out there. He may not be the best fullback in the league but he's probably our best backline player.

That and looks like Brooks has now completely checked out mentally. Our two most likely players to create something in attack are not in the game.

Of course i wasn't comparing Laurie with those players i just provided some stats for a particular reason,
And that is while Laurie is a relatively new fullback he's number of try assists were equal to Tedesco and the others, we are not acknowledging this with our young players together with the good talents that they have already shown us,

i'm sure when Tedesco was with us he failed to score a few tries by dropping the ball, didn't he?

Tedesco now is a superstar,
I think Laurie will be one too

Can people stop comparing our current crop to Tedesco please. There is lightyears between him and our nuffies.
