Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

There are always a few bad eggs in every walk of life, including amongst unions. The demise of unions in Anglo countries has in a big way resulted in the disparity of payments between workers and executive management, particularly that of CEOs that we see today.

Such was accelerated by Rupert Murdoch in the UK with Thatcher, along with Reagan in the US shortly after as they set about destroying collective strength of workers with their corporate allies. It was delayed in Australia for a decade or so before Howard got into power.

I have always recommend that my employees join a union. Just like a footy side, some players/workers have greater ability or skills than others. If they don't stick together and work as a unit, it allow individuals to be targeted, with the whole team suffering as a result.

Remembering the early part of the Covid thread and how it showed an understanding of who is actually important in society, yet here we are today with aged care workers still not receiving a pay rise. That along with old people being neglected and fed crap in aged care at their expense to maximise profits.

Tragic,I have often posted my opinion on here and have been ridiculed because it isnt what others opinion is...But when we look at what a mess our world is atm is it any wonder people get frustrated, angry or just plain depressed..
I look at it like this,we sit at a restaurant say and order our meals, mine might be fish and yours may be steak,we both had a choice and selected what we thought was best...my fish may have been great and your steak may have been tough and not quite what you expected...I cant sit there and abuse you or criticise you because your meal was tough and tell you that you should have had the fish..much like if I voted for a party and they wreck the country,it was my choice and ended up being a bad one...
We should try not to make the same mistake again but with much in life a large percentage of people have done the same thing for years hoping for better next time...
I find the trouble is that when we vote a party in to help us and our country, far to many times politicians of all fabric have their own agendas and not the peoples interests first and foremost...this is what needs to be cleared out of our system...corruption at all levels of Govt before we can have a safe secure and dependable Govt and leaders who put us the people first and make our country better than the last govt that was elected...
sorry about the rant....I think in the not so distant future things may get better for everybody because life cant keep going on as it is with so much uncertainty in all facets of our lives....

Like the reasoned and considered comment you provided in regard to me making actual comments toward my experiences with the unions. All of which were presented without any ill will toward anyone who was pro-union.

You chose to instead make a belligerent comment in regard to another post which was totally unwarranted and not address the opinions I held and then also chose to insult another user while grandstanding about your education level, your takeaway from this is that you are the victim.

You are combative, condescending and have a serious and unearned superiority complex. I am far from the only user you act like class-A spud toward. You are a narcissist of the highest order. Not sure what happens to you in your daily life for you to behave the way you do on here but it must not be palatable to behave like the overbearing, condescending, miserable swine that you are on here.

**** **** alert ⚠️ 📢 you pick fights but can't cop it back. Cultured is a well respected poster here and I'll back him anyday. Grow the hell up and stop an arse hole.
