Brooksy has had a couple of games to get used to the idea of being the supporting half (6), however, Madden isn’t the partner to be able to relieve him of enough of those game management responsibilities. Hastings is though. Which is why I’m looking forward to seeing Brooksy play his natural free flowing eyes up game.

It's 1 game but geez the Hastings/Brooks combo looked good.

I want to see them back it up over the next 3 weeks, give me 4 consistent rounds of footy.

We saw glimpses of it against Melbourne.
Just the change in player roles has brought it out into the light.

I rather Musgrove at the back than AD. He was dreadful when he played there before.
Has to be centre.

Fullback is probably his best position but he is great high kicker of the ball near the opposition's line.

Yea I know what your saying, but for me it's so important to get our best players involved. Doueihi showed last year he has the heart for tough carries, and also some moments inspiring defence. His reads on the edge are questionable, but his intent isn't.

I think he could be huge at 13. Ball playing, leaders attitude, and better suited to defend in the middle.

He and Jacko would ignite the team in the middle, leaving Brooks to play off the back of it.

It would transform the team.

Just my feeling.

I agree with this. He is not our best player.

Brooks had one of his best days with the pressure off. Still he made 24 meters and missed 5 tackles. Keeping the seat warm for Douehi

Brooks had plenty of traffic run at him today and also went in to DH a bit harsh,

I understand where you're coming from but he's never played a game at 6 like Brooks did today. He's a good centre though. I think that's his spot TBH.

Would be nice to see two good games in a row from him. And then some actual consistency. Hope he does it. I really do.
Look, by no means was today a brilliant game (eg compare to Munster’s game at 5/8), but he did well with chiming in for the try assists and made a few really excellent tackles.
I still think he has had his chances, his kicking game still sucked and he should be relieved of the goal kicking duties.
But, if those two things are taken off his hands when Douehi returns and if he plays like this in his foil-like role then at least he wards off those calling for his head …. for now…(like me 😆).

Laurie getting into dummy half to make sure that Hastings was delivered good ball on our last play of the match was huge in my eyes, as were the extra metres that Brooks made sure we got before playing that ball fairly quickly to then drop over the crossbar.

I haven't mentioned AD as a 6.

Last year when he moved to centre there were games where he didn't get the ball. We simply aren't a team that can afford to have one of our better players in a spot that allows that.

I think Brooks benefits from an emoted half next to him. Moses was his other half in most games when he was killing it.

There was a point when Brooks was just walking to the scrum, Hastings was shouting at everyone and the Brooks started sprinting and directing people around.
