Which guy?

Looking back at it the halves switch up came about at the perfect time.

Some say should of happened in the off season. But whose to say they didn’t train at times that way.

What I feel though is starting the season off out of respect for the team Hastings was happy to slot in and be the fill-in player. But after his Suspension and playing a younger but similar role player in Madden alongside Brooks it just wouldn’t of been the right call to give a 5-6 game rookie control of the team. But with Hastings coming back and the losses mounting it just seemed the perfect time to go with the preferred set up. And we’ll it worked well, Brooksy still played the same way he plays but he wasn’t pressured into having to play the game of chess on the field that I feel Hastings revels in. Cronk also mentioned a very important fact and you can only see it in practice but Hastings shortened up the middle third for Brooks and Laurie, he sucked in the Parra defence with the inside and outside balls in and around the ruck.
A guy we won't speak of.... 😂😉

Credit to Hastings tho.
What a footballer.

He did it over in the ESL.
It's one thing to grab players from winning cultures but its another all together to bring someone who knows how to be apart of a team struggling and then learn how to win. Those players are very rare. Hastings though is showing some top line qualities. It's early early days but he has been very impressive so far.
I reckon he is the ultimate footy nerd. Like lives and breathes it. He apparently is quite quiet and in his own words a little bit of a loner, maybe he just loves performing more than anything else and more anyone else.

Definitely. He's an organiser but plays off instincts, and not just with running. He is exceptional.

Not sure if you noticed but he gave Musgrove a mouthful for rushing on Dylan's Brown and missing the tackle that led to try.

If we can get the plodders in the forwards to have some discipline more regularly then we might have a chance.

No I didn’t notice that. That is perfect, it was wasted from me sitting here In my lounge room screaming at Musgrove!
I noticed the next opportunity though that freak defender Alex Twal (cough * doubters) nailed the inside pressure on Brown and the ball skidded over the sideline!

I reckon Hastings makes players around him better.

I watched the game over he’s an organiser he took the pressure off Brooks before during and after the game. You need a talker as your HB he’s constantly pointing telling players where to be what lines to run. The best part of Brooks game is his running he allows that Hastings might not be the fastest or best player going around but he seems like the type of player you want in your team especially now he has the chip off his shoulders. He was my MOM Brooks wasn’t far behind but I’ve always thought Brooks looked to be a better 6 than a 7.
Long may it continue!

Yeah he definitely played well. I'm keen to see Dias come into the side. Seems to be much more mobile than Musgrove + Makaele.
