Yeah, his Mrs parents live down the road from me.I remember that post actually. It's when you returned after a while off. You seen him training at some oval ay?
Yeah he played well individually last year but that got us to 13thYet despite his apparent slowness he scored more and also set up more tries than anyone else in the side last season. Guy is class
The blokes a grub and i dont even rate him as a player. Can't believe his name is even being mentioned. Crazy stuff.anyone mentioning matterson coming back is a goldfish, the bloke was a benchie who came here and became one of the better edges in the comp, madge spoke to Freddy and got him in the NSW squad then he goes and thanks madge by trying to cause trouble in the playing group and walking out on us refusing to play, guys an arrogent, vein flop and deserves exile from the nrl.
Hopgood is a very good player and he would fit into the playing group the club is trying to build. Plus, he comes from a very good system.Possible that Aitken may be released early… but looking at other options?
I’d still look at Bird and Hopgood
It was the blue print for North Queensland. The next battle front will be the juniors. We have a few really good young Qlders plus our own excellent juniors. We need to make sure the best are secured and continue to identify, retain and develop them.
I think he could be quite an important piece. Aitken is solid, but we already have some very solid forwards doing a great job.Hopgood is a very good player and he would fit into the playing group the club is trying to build. Plus, he comes from a very good system.
Topine, Doorey, Seyfarth, Blore, Talau, Hopgood is a good mix of backrowers / bench players.I think he could be quite an important piece. Aitken is solid, but we already have some very solid forwards doing a great job.
Believe we’ll be looking to aim higher in terms of bench props or reserve 2nd row/centre - one guy that falls in this bracket is Matt Doorey(?)
Unsure of spelling
Let’s put it this way so you may understand.Momo is so overrated on here. He is a fringe first grader. He does a lot of things right but he is also a small slow outside back.
Centres’ pay rate is going down, while back rowers’ is going up. Back rowers are now hanging out on the edges. I guess if you want to be a 3/4 get a contract as a back rower?I have a theory that the reason there is a lack of genuine centres is because the good centres either want to play fullback or 5/8

If he was with us right now….. he would be the first centre picked. OK?
Yep …. that’s what I’m getting at.I'd order our centres and Momo like this. Doueihi, To'a, Roberts, Kepaoa, Talau, Momo and then Gildart.
So you are right in the context of Laurie, Nofo, Doueihi, Roberts and Talau all being injured.
Yep …. that’s what I’m getting at.
No way offa is left out of the back row. AD to centre - has the added bonus of improving our lack lustre centre debacle.A second row of
11.Papalii
12.Aitkens/Bird
13.Doueihi
Screams sheens all over It, tbh I actually like it. 7 years ago I’d be saying oh noooo but the games changed since then, mobility is the key!
Should know by 8 tonightAny update on the meeting yesterday mate?
Even the clubs down the bottom have skilled individuals who are playing a team sport. Jack Wighton is a good player who has mixed it with the best in origin and grand finals. Not the sharpest but he’d add to our club.I cannot believe that we are looking for improved recruitment yet in the last 4 pages I have seen names tossed up like Jesse Arthurs, Morgan Harper and Jack Wighton.
How about we not recruit from struggling sides and focus on the rated juniors from Penrith, Storm and Roosters that cannot get a gig due to the volume of talent these clubs have.
I have a lot or time for Tapine and believe Aitken has merit too - but again if true we are recruiting from teams already struggling.
