Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Massive AD fan but also have a soft spot for Brooksy, can see him moving on tbh. But if Brooks does stay on AD at centre can work. now I understand his ball-playing as half is great especially his left to right cut out (one of the best I've ever seen). BUT whose to say we still cant see that with him at centre? just like many greats have done, Doueihi could shift one or two men inside the ruck ready for set plays, allowing us to get the best of both worlds. Just my thoughts on the best team balance, however, one thing is for sure wherever he plays he needs to improve his D. I love both Brooks and AD and it would be a shame to loose either.

BIRD TO STAY WITH DRAGONS
Dragons utility Jack Bird has reportedly re-signed on a two-year deal with a mutual option for a third. The club increased their offer after the 27-year-old knocked back their initial two-year offer, according to News Corp. It's understood the deal is worth around $550,000 a season
The way he defended on the weekend, he couldn't get the pen in his hand fast enough.

I would imagine contracts could be reneged by mutual agreement. The trouble is we wouldn't be offering the amount the cows are reportedly paying him.
Yep, it's not common, but 100% the case. Any contract can be deemed null and void via mutual agreement. We would fall a bit short on their offer, but not a tremendous amount. An extra year mutual option may sweeten the deal at 600 for example. The toughest part is the initial conversation about the idea. Though there is still plenty of time for this to happen, however likely it might be.

For me it would have to be a Sheens phone call to Payten...

Bird re-signed, Nikora looks to have rejected us and Aitken up in the air. our options for a back rower on the left edge are growing thin quickly. I know Doorey and Topine are on the club's radar but I'm unsure if either are of the calibre we need. WT needs to strike quickly and get it sorted.

Plus we are relying on injury prone Blore to come good and play a whole season.

hopeful he can get his body sorted, there is absolutely a player there. we've got plenty of youngsters coming through the grades that are going to be vying for back row positions, but apart from O'Kane and maybe Kautoga I think most of them are a while off.

Tumeth is coming off a stress fracture injury, Saukuru's on a two-year development deal and Galvin is still a few years away. Aitken on a two-year deal would be perfect imo to ensure we're not rushing any of the kids.
