I don’t know if it is Madge who has turned the team around but what I do know is our defense over the last 3 years was damn awful and getting worse each year.

In comes Cayless from the Roosters system and all of a sudden our defense has improved light years.

Whoever brought in Cayless needs congratulating.

Conceded 72 in two weeks. Defense is leaking again.

I understand the need for corporate confidentiality and no doubt you are well aware a supporter is not privy to that information. I also understand the posts on this forum which attempt to link a player signing with the club to the coach's tenure are divisive and unprofessional. Let the coach's fate be determined by results.

But first give him a roster befitting the level of competition they are up against.

Agree mate thats stupid money, it may pay off in time but its a pretty big throw of the dart at this age.

It's not really. We did once offer an 18 year old a million bucks over 3 years. As have many other clubs over the years. He's only slightly younger than them...

Both the last 2 games we have been down to 14 players and half of the team is reserve grade quality... Not sure what you expect v Teams at full strength and have the ref helping them..
In the past i would of agreed but with the current stock i disagree.

He literally looked exactly like Brooks in the second half trying his guts out. Zero tries resulted. Same same WT!

While he has his faults no doubt..not having a crack is not one of Brooks faults..

What yesterday does highlight no matter how great Hastings was ..he can't do it alone..just as Brooks can't.. something we have know for years..

Love how some are blowing smoke up Hastings for ‘leading’ a team that conceded 5 tries in a row, same thing brooks has done for years. How’s it different?!

I posted earlier in the day Hastings tried hard to spark the team yesterday. I respect his effort but he just does not have the pace or spark to get it done. However he brings other valuable qualities to the team. Brooks complements him with his spark, pace, kicking etc. As a combo, they work well together.

They both need better players around them. As would Allan Langer or Andrew John’s. Our squad sucks

I understand what you are saying but IMO we have turned a corner and we would of conceded 50+ the last 2 games if it was last year. At full strength we win or get close to Cows and I think it all comes from having Hastings there organising the team.. I have been asking for a leader on field for years now and we now have him.. Not a knock on brooks either but he is not a vocal leader that we have needed. If you haven't watch the Hastings interview after the game I recommend it as that's a Leaders response.

Brooks has been replaced, he lost the 7 jersey.
Jackson is setting the standard.

Adam will be back soon and he'll be the 6.

Maybe Luke can link with his old mate Mbye at the Dolphins.

I'll be very surprised if they don't use Adam either in the centres or at Fullback. Seems to make perfect sense considering neither brooks nor hastings have anyone to pass the ball to at the moment.
