Sheensy hates leaks.
As you said Ice and Api didn't make the news.
I doubt we're getting Angus, as @Chris advised us.... Sheens doesn't know the young Parra winger and we haven't offered Angus a thing.
Jack Bird has made the news, now Hetherington (heard from a local source, the Knights are making a play) - I doubt we're actually after either.
Sheens is out there though, exploring availabilities.
I get that we are gun shy with big contracts but Angus is type of player we should be paying premium for. If reports are true and he reached out to us himself then he actually wants to be here, is origin class in his prime, in a position we really need.
Cap money has to be spent and if we don’t get someone like Angus we end up paying overs for two mid level players that are exactly the same level as we have had for years. We have enough fringe first graders as it is.
Angus would be a needle mover for the club both in perception and on field performance.
We will most certainly upgrade Papa. We can't build a squad with quality players it we're continually holding back on paying for top quality players. Our offer is not stand alone. It needs to be considered in comparison to what Papali'i will receive. Papali'i is the form player in the NRL in the second row.
Yeah so would i, but that would require Martin to be available.I'd be going overs on Liam Martin before Angus.
He's off contract next year. Managers asking to much though.Yeah so would i, but that would require Martin to be available.
Those mentioning Hetherington, it's rumoured that he's on about 525k at the dogs. Is he worth that? No they paid overs to get him to the club, as they have with all their signings. Realistically he's worth half that amount. Suspension and injury prone, with errors and penalties in his game too. He's a project, hence max 300k player
He's available to negotiate in a few months and has already knocked back the Panthers once...Yeah so would i, but that would require Martin to be available.
Hence why you'd get the dogs to pay 200k of his contract for the remainder.

I’d be all for it he’s a great player. Just don’t want us to be too scared to pay guns gun money and end up paying fringies overs anywayHe's available to negotiate in a few months and has already knocked back the Panthers once...
I remember that. It was just after Hastings had told everyone where to be to set it all up and Liddle completely ignored him. We got lucky and got the ball back and Hastings gave him a gobful and rightly so.Doesn't know how to pass or when to run.. Full set on their line we should have been up 24-0 b4 halftime he fed 3 short balls in a row In their 10 if I'm not mistaken. 2 to twal, the guy is headless
The fact that he has excess baggage for misdemeanors and injuries, 350k seems about the fig. Those mentioning Hetherington, it's rumoured that he's on about 525k at the dogs. Is he worth that? To me as long as your only paying it for 1 year it's not as insane as it sounds. But only if freeing up that other $500k is the difference between being definitely able to secure an Angus Crichton type as opposed to plodder like Aiken or Elliot in another position.I think the blokes who are saying let brooks go for 500 and cut our loses are the same ones that were screaming when we were paying almost a million out of our cap to players playing for the opposition.
The idea of paying brooks 500,000 dollars to play against us is insane.
