It's a simple statement, what part didn't you understand.
Our universities are full of overseas students but not many indigenous.
Our school teachers don't have the resources to teach indigenous children. In the cities it is not such an issue but in country and remote regions English is often not the spoken word.
What's been done, what are your suggestions to 'bridge the gap'
My statement is my gut feeling that more needs to be done and not forgotten or pushed aside.
In the election campaigns I didn't see enough from all parties to push indigenous affairs, some said little but not enough.
Anyway, I'm not going to comment anymore. The political topic is not for me...hot gas just like our politicians, not productive.

The foundation has to be rebuilt to bring others along, which starts with the message and tone. Only then can we move forward with some sort of unity for real change and as Peter Dutton refused to attend the national apology to the stolen generations, I cannot see it happening with him as opposition leader.

To see only one Australian flag instead of half a dozen (no General for chest beating either), along with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait flags hanging alongside for Albanese's first parliament blue room address, was a huge statement. Setting the tone for inclusion rather than division.

Removal of the blanket use of the INDUE card should be one of the first changes affecting indigenous Australians and the millions of private administration profits from the sceme put into health and education of the communities to begin with.

The guy responsible for covering up knowledge on the alleged rape of a staffer is a good public servant, really?
You have no evidence that is correct. You might believe it to be true but that doesn't make it so. I worked with the guy closely when he was head of Treasury in NSW. He is a man of honor and integrity.

Okay, then as he was head of the PMO, should we blame the cleaner?

Biden says U.S. willing to use force to defend Taiwan — prompting backlash from China

Looks like Biden doing the shirt fronting.

Tough first day on job for Albanese.
I cant work Biden out...first he pulls the troops out of Afganistan, then its off to Ukraine to start a war with Russia, now its China he wants to take on...

I will say one thing...at least when Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon was in there were no wars started.....

good on Biden, Albanese will follow him in to protect Taiwan from China

I think some of the swing were due to demographic changes (traditional white Aussies are moving out/passing away and being replaced with new Aussies).

But I also think some of the more politically engaged residents were fed up with the government while those doing

Pretty well, though don't discount the knowledge of much of the electorate. As the wash up is already indicating that many voted strategically and particularly so in seats that they felt that changing their primary vote could remove a sitting Liberal that had not represented those values.

As I have in previous posts, I am happy to say I voted Liberal in my electorate and the sitting member was returned.

Whilst I believe the result may be a mistake for our country over the next few years, I am happy to be a part of one of the better democracies in the world where essentially, majority rules. I don't want to play semantics and carry on, but that is how it is pretty much.

Whilst I despise Penny Wong like you wouldn't believe, I accept the country has spoken and she will have my respect because of the position she holds as an elected official.
Mr Albanese as PM will also absolutely have my respect.

I do find it very class-less that Labor voters continue, after the election where Morrison got a right kick in the a$$, to continue with the rhetoric and the carry on. It's finished people. He was humiliated. Now behave like the new PM claims he will, and that is for better country and a more united country.

For the record, I grew up in Mt Druitt in the 70s and 80s, of single parent after Dad left when I was 2 or 3, and where mum didnt work but spent most of her time at Rooty Hill RSL before it was the Vegas of the West. This government housing single parent stuff does not automatically translate to Labor beliefs. This refugee doing it tough does not translate automatically either.

I urge Labor voters, Liberal voters, independents and everything in between to accept the decision with grace, move on and be better people and be better country, even if we are already the best country there is!
