Wests Tigers Coaches

Maybe our juniors are just shit?
Can’t think of many that weren’t.
Behind Penrith id say our junior base and potential to produce talent is right up there.

If that hasnt happened(which it hasnt) then thats on the club.

Thankfully they have taken steps in the last 12 months to fix this. Pathways are now in place. Good people to coordinate and oversee this are in place.

Next step is the right coach to take players with potential and turn them into Luai's, Crichton's and Toa's of our future.

In the past we have failed miserably in developing the talent we produce. The best and most obvious talents like the Tedescos head off to greener pastures. The real trick is taking your Dene Halatau types and making them internationals.

Yeah I love how people think you can just chuck green horn props into a cauldron like NRL and they’ll do a job week, after week, after week…
It takes years at NRL level for a prop to find his feet. Some idiots are claiming Steph will lead the pack next year…please…he will still be coming from the bench.

Yeah - It boggles my mind....
For mine - We're already short 2 Quality back rowers...
We're losing 3 from the top 30 in that position and getting one back.
We have 3 in development (Still 20 odd years old)
Who's teaching them?

Same as in 2014 when we thought we'd fill the team up with overpaid talented kids and they'd all just trick shot their way to being a consistent football club - Rather than pay them market value (For kids) and risk losing them....
Moses was on 450k before he'd even played a game... Not 450k now - 450k 2 (Or 3) Salary caps ago....

Stefano is 21... He's not Payne Hass...
He'll only be getting to his best at the end of his contract.

I haven't heard or seen anything from Pascoe has he been sidelined ?
I am guessing the club made a conscious effort to remove Pascoe and Lee from official media commentary. They were getting hammered anyway, so I don't personally any issue with them keeping their mouths mostly shut.

Even the Members letters are now written by generic "Wests Tigers".

This is part of the role Tim Sheens took on - spokesperson as well as decision-maker.

Exactly - It's his job!!

Where were the CEO and Chair of the Dogs when Barrett quit, It's not their job....
And to e honest - Even if it was, They're not as good as Sheens at doing what Sheens did last night.

The first section of this video is about ciraldo gives you abit of insight into what he may be like as a coach

It looks like he has a lot to do with penriths defence witch is great
I nearly fell asleep when Ivan was talking. Don’t know how the players do it

No, not with the squad we have.
Payten got the Cowboys forward pack firing. He was a genius in pulling Jason T to reserve grade and getting his game right.
We don't have a Jason, we don't have a Hess. Heck the one player he was interested in is joining the Cows.

Payten will almost ignore the halves. By having Thurston around he can leave the halves with him (and Chat T plus Tom Dearden, your doing ok). In our squad Payten would improve our forwards, sure. Leave Hastings to steer the halves and be lost with our backs.

We need to get a solid and regular lineup at the back row. Sure same wingers each time, but no more changing centers.
I think that Demps was having a shot at the previous poster who couldn’t spell Todd’s name correct.

Maybe it was time for a change. We've been performing poorly and there has to be some consequences.

I'm just not buying Sheen's 3 year or whatever plan.
Sheens is only here for 3 years.....

How can innocently Sheens stand next to Madge for Days or Weeks knowing that he was make this recommendation?
When I started reading posts on this forum that linked the potential acquisition of Crichton to Maguire's tenure and the same with Doueihi and Hastings, I knew and almost certainly he knew his time was up.

So you don’t know?
No i actually do know but im not entering in to this conversation.

I respect that you disagree with my opinion and usually enjoy your posts. On this occasion you dont agree with me and are looking to pick holes in what im saying. Focusing on unimportant areas of a discussion gets us nowhere . A simple i dont agree would be more appreciated mate.

The development pathways and what the club has done to address this issue is very well documented and has been a huge turning point in the turning of the tide. From here we move forward.

From the mole Sheens mate Tony Adams...

A man who ticks three vital boxes shapes as the dark horse in the race for the Wests Tigers coaching job following the sacking of Michael Maguire.

While the usual suspects like Penrith assistant Cameron Ciraldo, St Helens coach Kristian Woolf and out of work coaches Shane Flanagan and Paul Green have been mentioned, there is support growing for former Cronulla mentor John Morris.

Morris has shown he can get teams to the finals - something no Tigers coach has managed in over a decade - he is close to the club's head of football Tim Sheens and he is a former Tigers player.

The more I think about it the more I think Morris might even be first choice over the rest. Don’t know if he commands a room the same way Ciraldo does. But like what Sheens said with Madge. Morris may of been a square peg in a round hole at Cronulla, fits the tigers logic to a tee. Was with us from 2007 till 2009. So would of physically been part of the team feeling the after effects of not going back to back then Losing their halfback and general, Scott Prince. Whatawira and Hodgson leaving a couple years later to renew an aging roster and the introduction of a some youth in Moltz, Lui, Tuaki, Woods, Dwyer, Ashford and finally leaving the club the year prior to the team once again having some success.

I really believe that Sheens is going to turn this basketcase around. I was a big Madge fan until I thought it through yesterday and listened to Tim's comments. We need a coach who can develop the young talent coming through and unfortunately Madge is not that man, he is a passionate man manager suited to international teams but tactically and development wise he is not it. We may well lose the likes of Hastings etc but if they are not invested then who cares. We will be in for some painful years again blooding these youngsters but it will be necessary,it is not like we have been setting the world on fire anyhow. I hope Noddy pisses off some of the older bludgers now such as Tamou, Nofa, Garner, Brooks etc and regardless of results we see some young guys given a crack.
What's gunna stop the young talent doing a tedesco, moses, papenhuyzen, Woods etc?
