Wests Tigers Coaches

Cleary will be in Ciraldos ear. No way he will come after he hears Ivan's version of events.
I don’t think Cc and Ivan are necessarily close buddies.

Ivan takes a lucrative extended deal forcing CC out of the club.

Very selfish as per usual from Mr Rodent features.

The Ciraldo bandwagon is pretty full right now.
Lots of us are pinning our hopes on him being able to lure 'Riff talent to us.
Let's say that none of their players want to come . . . for whatever reason.
Is Ciraldo the standout answer then ? Please do not use the word "development" in your answer . . .
Coz if we are pinning hopes to him maybe bringing players with him, that could end up ugly.
No one is pinning anything on this. Quite the opposite. We want him to come here and do what he did at the Panthers with our talented juniors. If he happens to bring a few promising players that's a bonus

I think people are also somewhat going off on a tangent on this development thing and the timeframes mentioned by Sheens. He mentioned 3 years as the point in which he expects us to get a strong benefit from our youth focus - ie kids are 17-18 now but will be 20-21 in a few years, by which point they should be first graders.

And while we are targeting a development coach that doesn't mean we can't also sign top level players to help get short term results while the juniors are developing. They're not mutually exclusive, Penrith signed the likes of Tamou, Korisau, Kikau, TPJ, Tetevano etc to help supplement their existing talent

I would like to see Ciraldo as head coach and Cronk as an assistant…Cronk is a brilliant tactician….
We would have to pay overs to get Cronk, even as assistant.
If we can, lets do it. I think he is blocked at Easts and perhaps could see an opportunity here.

Great comment and I think it nails how we build the club.

We tried this too with the big three. Teddy, Moses and Brooks. We really really tried to keep that playing group together and kept Nofo in that group. Skipping a lot of history I hope we have learned a lesson and that lesson being to get players who have signed with Managers who aren't insane! (what club would have hired all 4 under the cap. ok someone saw $$$ when Woods wanted to jump onboard so that he wasn't excluded from the club).

Looking forward, we see how Penrith identified their weaknesses:
Hooker - Api Koroisau
Forwards - Zeb taia and Tamou. Later punted for Locals.

Earlier maybe James Maloney was brought in to guide the halves. Yet I thought that was closer to the Soward era... Everyone clears out for the backs which they have growing like trees.

I would like us to do the same. Identify gaps "lock" where we don't have the players coming up. Keep options open to hire and bring in the Juniors. Everyone who says "Depth" makes me want to puke. Depth means juniors wait 2-3 people behind to get to first grade. Depth also means less money for prime first graders.

We thought that we had solved our coaching problems when Cleary was here but he stabed us in the back and set us back at least another 3 years, a tremendous amount of good work has been done by the WT since then , juniour pathways, COE, T Sheens, J Hastings, etc.

With this guidance now from T Sheens the final pieces of the puzzle are now starting to come together.

all about balancing the salary cap,eg,why pay top $$$ if a developing player is only a year off 1st grade etc etc

Ludicrous counting interim coaches. They don't count.

Junior was only interested in coaching for the inaugural year.

Cleary did the dirty on us.

So, 4 coaches given the boot in 22 years. There's plenty of other clubs that have gone through coaches too.

Gotta be careful not to go too hard with external talent tho which I think madge was trying to do.

Don't want another Adam blare situation for example.

I want to ask, "how do we pair coaches"?

We have one coach and 2x assistants.

The best example at the moment of a good pairing is Todd Payten and Thurston (being around). This means a great forwards/second row coach can have an awesome halfback work with 2 experienced halves.

Another in Cleary and Ciraldo. No fluke that Cleary being paired with a good defense coach works very well.

Melbourne lost Jason Ryles to Easts, Ryles being a good physical training coach, as was Craig Fitzgibbon.

So think about this:
Kimmorley (halves) paired with Cayless (defense) and Gardiner (halves)?

What does this mean:
Cayless is Cayless is Cayless. Whatever our defense is at the moment it will stay. I think we are better then last year but there are still issues.

Kimmorley is Attack and structure. We should see our attack improve. Kimmorley wont' train the guys harder then McGuire, he won't improve our defense in big ways. He does have energy as a player so maybe the team won't fade after 60 minutes.

Kimmorley should equal more points. If we don't score more points then we have up to now Fire him!

Cleary is Rodent

Sacrificed our club to coach his witless son
Lied and cheated all our players, head stuck up Chinnys bum
Coward scumbag gutless stink
My ass dear Ivan …blow it a kiss.

Also some more perspective in the "zomg all the coaches, we're a basket case" garbage.

Since our inception.

Bunnies 10 coaches
Broncos 5 coaches
Eels 7 coaches
Dogs 8 coaches
Dragons 8 coaches
Sharks 8 coaches
Manly 4 coaches
Panthers 7 coaches
Roosters 6 coaches
Warriors 11 coaches
Raiders 6 coaches
Knights 9 coaches
Cowboys 9 coaches
Storm 3 coaches
Titans 7 coaches
And sticking with the interims, we've had 9.
We aren't worse than a few other clubs and plenty of others have had similar numbers or close to it.

Salute genius post!

And when there’s coaching dramas at clubs, we get 9 months of bad media and they get 9 minutes.

But of the list above, there’s at least 9 clubs who are boring and uninspiring. Whose presence does nothing but protect young men from the evils of AFL
