WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

I hear a lot of criticism aimed at the WT Board of Directors. But when it comes to football decisions, they surely just rubber stamp (within financial reason) what Sheens, Pascoe and the football department presents to them.

The board is made up of eight. Five of the eight are from Wests Ashfield. The chair and two others are from the Balmain side of the tracks. Given the club is doing well financially I think the board is doing a good job.

I could be totally wrong, but don’t think Julie Romero, Dennis Burgess or Simon Cook etc are talent scouting for players in their spare time. Most of the board are successful business types who are there to make sure Wests Tigers are a successful business.

When it comes to footy decisions I can see Rick Wayde (Wests) and Danny Stapleton (Balmain) having a say, but it’s going to be mostly down to what Sheens wants.

Pascoe’s role in football related decisions - I’m not sure about. It would seem that Sheens was brought in to cover Pascoe’s lack of football smarts.

But, I could be wrong ...
The entire organisation is a running joke. That’s on everyone and Lee has acknowledged that. Why then do they survive if they’re not the coach. ???

So they call a director of balmain an independent? Insert clown music.
Honestly, I think it is more about how they are appointed, 5 members are appointed from Wests, 1 from Balmain and then the other 2 are appointed by the other Wests Tigers Board Members.

That is 2 seats on the Wests Ashfield board voted by members Wests Ashfield, the Wests Ashfield and Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (WSDRLFC is a controlled entity of Wests Ashfield appoint 5 members, Balmain Football Club appoints 1 member and 2 indepenedent are appointed to the Wests Tigers Board.
How are you Cochise. I've only chatted to you once before which is weird after all these years. 🤔
You seem to be well educated in the club's inner workings. I'd like to know more.
The boards structure that you quote...is that found on the WT website?
I recall looking at an exhausting list of the club's appointments on the website but can't recall voting rights, panel members and the nitty gritty of the club structure, please share if you can. 🌝
I would also like to know if the club has a person responsible for dealing with it's members. Like a liaison officer.
I feel that there must be someone available to field questions and give answers about the club's direction and plans.

The best information related to the make up of our board is found on Wikipedia and funnily enough the Wests Magpies website.

This explains it very well https://www.westsmagpies.com.au/the-club/teams-boards-ownership/

I have also looked into the constitution of Wests Ashfield in relation to getting an understanding of the make up of their board and also the Wests Tigers board.

The club has a membership department headed by Grant Kirkpatrick but the information they have available is more related to typical membership info.

They are appointed by the Wests Magpies Pty. cook is the CEO of Wests Ashfield and Burgess is or at least was a director of Wests Ashfield.
True.
I was being tongue in cheek, as they’re not Wests Footy club directors. But yes they are the two Wests Ashfield contributed directors.

So is it Stapleton who gives Benny Elias all his inside info ? Or is that Pascoe ? 🤔
