What Car do you Drive..?

Went looking for a new car with the wife today. She liked the new Mitsubishi Outlander (mid spec one) not too bad but reading some mixed reviews. She only drives a small commute on good road so probs not too big of an issue. We looked at the RAV4 in the hybrid top spec. Damn nice car but I’d need two more jobs to pay for it😜

Toyota has good finance options bra.
Toyota Access.

It's got under seat storage. Can fit two full faced helmets under there.
Can fit a good load of shopping in there too. I keep spare clothes, towel and swimming shorts in there.
I just power through the rain and get changed at my destination. it's tropical weather so I'm never cold.
When I was young I never worried about getting wet when riding unless it was the dead of winter. Now I'm old and soft I never get on one of my bikes unless it's dry. Funny thing is I still don't care if I'm out and it does rain.

Well, it's been a while since I was regularly in the forum. Sadly, the exxy got flattened by a tree in a windstorm in Feb 2019. So daily drive is now a 7-seater MU-X, which I love.

But best of all, added to the garage is the 1963 EJ! She's a work in progress, and is currently at the welder's, and I can't work out how to post a pick, but she's a beauty 😍
Welc back SQ.

I have a new MUX on order and due for delivery next month for the family.

Gonna full on deck it out for some 4WD beach adventures.

The memories flood back to the first of the squarish shapes and last of the grey motors

My first car was the pointy EK Special, the model prior. Dropped with a set of wide chromies, to just fit inside the slit cut and crimped inner guards, that the tyres rubbed on if someone sat in the back. Heaven for this 17yo back in the day, with your girl sitting alongside on the bench front seat.

For what it's worth, I've got a mate (retired mechanic) that has the mitsubishi outlander and he swears by it. It is his second mitsubishi 4wd and he wouldn't own anything else. He tows a big off-road campervan with it and is planning on taking it up the Cape next year.

Throwing in my 2c

When I had to replace the exxy, my friend's hubby is a car reviewer, so I asked him for advice and he suggested the Outlander and the MU-X. I went with MU-X because of where I live, but if I lived in town, there'd be a red Outlander called Jamie sitting in the driveway 😍

Yeah, the MU-X would be my choice too and my mate did consider it but he stuck with what he knew.
