Depends if you are head hunting the person for the role or going through a selection process.

You can understand head hunting but they stuffed up via being so transparent about who they were after. They then doubled down and stated he has rejected us.

It was so stupid. It was especially stupid because Ciraldo is a rookie coach.

They appear to have learnt but that in itself is a concern when it was predominantly Sheens opening his trap.

I get that, but shouldn’t we always have an open mind to the selection process? I mean, there are many ways to close or create urgency with decision making without applying pressure?

The club has made no announcement regarding the coach after CC declined the offer. I don't believe that is amateurish.

I agree. The only stuff up was chasing Ciraldo publicly. There is an argument for being transparent as well but it was a dumb decision with hindsight.

I think sacking Madge prior to having someone signed up was the only way forward. Anything else shows a lack of integrity from within the organization which is worse.

Most of us could see when it started playing out in the media it would likely end up the same way it did with Latrell, JAC, TPJ etc. - come to think of it, all of those scenarios were when Lee was involved.

Api wasn't played out much and we got our man. We need to do this more often.

Yes, it seems really odd to me also.
You get the applications, then select your shortlist for interviews, then announce the successful applicant. Most unusual to announce the unsuccessful applicants one by one. Unless by doing so they chose to convey the news that the job is still open and if you haven’t applied please do so now, or if you applied and we didn’t respond, try again lol

Ciraldo probably would of never sent an application.

Would people accept a Flanagan/Gallen combo change of direction at our club or something similar. We need to change our attitude, time for honest efforts on the field regardless of who they are coached by , don’t keep on giving players an excuse for their bad form because of changing coaches, either they can play or they can’t, Gallen calls it for what it is surely we could employ him to toughen some up.

I hope they have 3-4 options lined up and they’ve given them each a bit of time to get some verbal confirmation that players will move to WT under their coaching, why wouldn’t they? It’s a player issue more than anything.

You know what BANGFO5,it wont matter who the coach is,until they completely get their house in order from the top down,then these poor years will continue...
Madge tried to change the culture,he tried to get a good roster with youth and experience,he tried to get the defense right,he resigned Brooks after he won Dally M to stay with WTs and in the end results beat him and he was sacked,it also didnt help him that the board,Pascoe and Lee kept sticking their noses in where it wasnt needed,the Cleary appointment straight from the Pascoe friend list,the salary cap fine straight from the Pascoe dumb file...I could go on over the many years however Im sure you get the picture...
Sheens has got the floor,from now until the start of next season is one of the biggest repair jobs he has taken on so we can start winning regularly...the CC debarcle isnt a good start but lets give him the chance to fill the voids and help make us a decent team and club,we all deserve that after years of paying memberships and supporting the joint through thick and thin...
We need to fill the coaches position ASAP so we can steady the ship and look forward instead of back....

It’s been interesting to see the club media musical chairs, any one of 4 officers is the club authority, maybe 5 if you include this weeks captain.

I don’t mind them taking their time as long as the coach has pulling power. This new coach is not hamstrung like MM was.

Remember he had a policy that any player who was out 3 weeks or more had to come back through reserves. He was by far the worst coach. At least Taylor had success at Parra and Souths. Lamb was the worst, Potter the most hard done by.

This is the issue. It's pretty poor at that level to have to get the lesson that way.

Didn't someone say he was a former Townsville Blackhawks coach?
I wonder which players he's actually coached, as there are a few that have gone elsewhere from their juniors systems (B Smith, J Hughes, Kikau, Kaufusi) who adjusted well to the NRL.

Anything achieved in the ESL has to be taken with a grain of salt. Justin Holbrook had an 80% winning record over there. Here it’s 37%. Our own dumped coach had a 76% winning record. Results means nothing over there.
