Wests Tigers Coaches

The past month just shows how off the pace we are as a club. They need some positive news to come through. The new coach will have trouble recruiting the way we are going. Every coaching decision has been bad. We get Sheens back because of his experience and identifying talent. Yet we sacked him when we had a good core group of juniors coming through. Get Potter in because we can't afford a top level coach then sack him because Robbie does'nt rate him. They get Taylor (inexperience coach 2) then sack him when they should of done it in the off season. We just do not learn as a club back to square one again.

That's the issue Lauren. There's lots of criticism and guesswork but the club has made no announcement. Its smacks of professionalism with not an ebb or flow to be sighted.
Sorry I was implying that journalists are probably as knowledgeable as us, and by using the word guesswork I simply meant speculating.

I could be totally wrong but I see it as media spin with Benji likely in on it. Damage control (?) to help alleviate some pressure for Kimmorley and the team, as we still need to determine which players offer any value and are worthy of a contract - it's obviously not realistic for the club to release most of them. We currently aren't in any position to attract or promote 5 players let alone 10-13.

I also don't see any issues with the club leaving them (the media) guessing. We'll have them eating of our hands in no time if we can play it cool, for once.
We're (well most of the supporter base) not going anywhere despite us sometimes saying otherwise.

This club is a rudderless ship, going in circles. The elephant in the room is management. Someone there cant hold their nerve, cant stick to a plan.
All this talk about a rebuild. Yeah, with what? Another coach that's under pressure from day 1. A bunch of cast offs that cant make the starting 17 of other clubs.
Why? Because this club has demonstrated to the whole of the NRL that it is inherently unstable.
Sure, come to Wests Tigers, get on our bus, oh wait, get with our three year plan, oh wait, come get developed.
Yep, yep, step right up folks to the greatest show on earth.

I have no confidence in which ever way they go experienced coach or development coach. I don't get how they can say we need a development coach when the juniors they are talking about are atleast 2-3 years away from making there debut. Also I'm not being disrespectful to the juniors coming through but we would be doing well if 5 of these kids turn into quality first graders.
And if I take my WT hat off would you really want to coach the Tigers going on what has happened in the last 10 years. I am so frustrated in the club at the moment.

Kimmorley's brain fart yesterday was to have all the backs run the ball out of our half. Someone said it was a Penrith tactic. The forwards, apart from Offa, were absent, hence the low yardage.
We just don't have coaching talent. Cayless has done wonders for defence but clearly, Gardner isn't the attack coach that we need.

Gardiner is running the bloody water mate , he has been replaced as the assistant coach by the looks of who is in the coaches box

Apparently Sheens reversed that statement a little in his chat to the Ambush event yesterday. Said in 2005 it was a good mix of experience and a sprinkling of youth. Conceded we need a few stars (Ferrari’s). This has lifted my spirits a little.

That's a relief. what else was said? Anyone have a summary? Any other insights?

It works for Penrith but they have 5 - 6 wrecking ball forwards off the back fence once To’o gets a dint in them.

What's this talk about the Walker brothers are in contention.
I just can't get my head around it but if it were to work it would be a first and be very marketable.
Also disastrous if it didn't work.
Does anyone know if any brothers coached first grade in the past. I bet you there may have been playing/coaching brothers years ago???

Its Mentioned at the start of their latest podcast.

Interesting points I remember

Sheens was first brought on as an ambassador similar role as benji and Robbie. He then got word they wanted a Gould type role which at first he knocked back at first as knew if that's what they wanted needed power to make decisions.

Mentioned club didn't have any money back when he was here last time and 100 percent they had to take home games to stadiums to survive. Mentioned now they have all the resources they need and now all future decisions will be made for club improvement

Didn't shut down coaching

Mentioned he watched the game and said would like Jackson to take the line on and run more. Said wasn't happy with defence. We were holding them for a long period of time but there needed to be someone else to come in and bring the attacking player down to the ground.

We need Magpiegate, someone to break into an office and take photos of the recruitment file.

Based on @CloudyGlocks assertions, by a process of deduction, I hazard a guess that we might be close to signing Morris after all.

At least 9 spots to fill, still some fair players on the market.
At WT they call that the Penske file
