Wests Tigers Coaches

Some classic quotes in this! I'd love Lee & Pascoe go in 360 one night when Kent & Hooper are on. Would be very interesting if Kent is so venomous then towards them.

...

Recent comments from one NRL 360 talking head have angered the Tigers chairman, with the reporter in question labelling the move as a publicity stunt.

“I will take this opportunity to correct a certain misrepresentation which I have seen in the media, which has caused me a little bit of concern," he said.

"There is a particular talking head on Fox Sports who has been very critical of the Wests Tigers for some time, myself and Justin Pascoe our CEO in particular.

"None of that concerns me at all, the other thing is he resorted to name-calling, which is always the refuge of those who cannot make a cogent argument. In fact, he even suggested that Justin and I venture into the street and shoot each other – in this day and age of so much gun violence, I didn’t think that was particularly clever.

"When Benji was interviewed, it was suggested to him that his appointment may have been part of a publicity stunt by the club to divert attention away from the club.

"We can be the subject of legitimate criticism, but to suggest for one moment that Tim Sheens or Benji Marshall or Robbie Farah would be complicit, either willingly or unwillingly, to some publicity stunt, I thought was particularly demeaning and disrespectful to those gentlemen.

"If they did not believe that they were the right people at the right time, I’m sure they wouldn’t accepted to the offers that had been made.

"Criticism of me and Justin and the club is fair enough and we will take that on board, but these gentlemen deserve far better."
Even though I don't agree withthe appointments, I do like him calling out the idiots that constantly slam dance the club - about time they did.

My point is exactly what I said. The two most recent coaches who have graduated to the NRL and seem to have some ability as coaches have served a long time in the shadows and earning their stripes. I don't care if Benji is putting anything on the line, and if he fails at this he always has his media career to fall back on which he has cultivated nicely.

Where does the club go from here if this fails? Granted it's all conjecture but there's more qualified coaches who have graduated to the NRL recently with a good amount of success behind them and they have been failures.

Benji has a lot to learn in two years. Happy to eat crow if it pans out, I can't see it happening though.
Salt and pepper with your crow sir?

Had a good chat with Christian Welch at the Storm game on the weekend. Said a few of the boys who have played under Sheens for Aus rate him really high as a coach and said he’s he is a really smart operator. I personally don’t see it judging solely off his selections but who knows!
Also, he said Dolphins didn’t want him before he resigned with Storm and he definitely knows he is lucky as hell for re-signing when he did before his latest injury! Haha

You know what they say about drummers.
They're the ones who hang around musicians. 😉

Come on back Scotty - the Broncs don't need ya!

Anyone who says that - Never played with a good one.

It's no secret the best bands in history have the best Drummers.

Listen to the Beatles Demos, Before Ringo - Listen to the Nirvana - Nevermind demos before Dave Grohl.
They both pale in comparison.
I can tell you the difference between playing with a great drummer and and one who "Hangs around Musicians" can be defining...

I found Sheens comment about how well the club is financially now compared to when he took over in 2003 interesting. Much better off with the cap and financially better off as a club that they are now pouring lots of money into pathways yet still made the comment that they can’t compete with other clubs third party deals in signing the big stars.

I guess it's still a small club compared to your Brisbane, Melbourne Roosters?

Are you sure ? Pretty sure that's an urban myth - And was never actually said by John Lennon...
It was a gag on the BBC at some point.

You can Google it...

Hey champion @batboy - absolutely on the same page as you (pardon, I was trying to be funny).

Have you seen McCartney though. He could do it all and I think without any training. Play guitar, piano, drums and sing and he could do it better than other people.

Well, Unless they start cloning (And soon) Paul is going to need himself a Ringo or 2....
