I think the problem with reversing the decision is the can of worms it could open.

I reckon the best we can hope to see is some refs being punted.

I'm not so sure that is such a bad precedent: the rules are the rules, they got it wrong, make it right. Wouldn't it reflect better on the nrl to admit their mistake and rectify it?

Having said that, I've always wondered why they never awarded the premierships the storm were stripped of to the beaten grand finalists? 🤔

It's been done at the Olympics when people have been stripped of the gold. Even if Carl Lewis just didn't get caught... 🤣

I think the Storm thing was discussed here before. Let's say '09 when It was Eels vs Storm. Whichever team Storm beat to get to the Grand Final could mount a claim saying we could have also won. The only times it could be allowed is places like 100m sprint, bike races etc.

Good point. It's all hypothetical after hypothetical! If this, then that... Never ending!

But I think this is far more clean cut - a team won by an illegal captains challenge after the game had finished.

If the club want to send the nrl a rocket, they should use big Lee to get in contact with n.s.w police and ask if possible to have the situation investigated for match fixing, nothing will come of it, but it'll show the nrl we don't give a toss and aren't mucking around and when things like this happen we are willing to go around the nrl and above them.

Haha I'll still be cheering on the Cowboys to win it. If beating us helps them keep the 2nd spot and increase chances of winning the GF,, I don't mind at all! My hatred for Penrith and Parra is far greater than us winning a game in a dead season.

We must contact V'Landys ASAP and demand the sacking of Butler & Klein. A points reversal is unlikely but these clowns have destroyed the game and must be terminated.

Lets keep this cool headed, and actually do something about this situation....

We need to go over the rule book on captains challenges with a fine tooth comb, then do the same with the game footage.

Before we go off half ready, compile a decent report on the matter, as irrefutable as possible, compose a package that can easily be signed outlining our frustrations with the situation.

Then comes the part of patience.... we need to have our ducks in a row. Forwarding these signed packages as individuals not only to Sport Integrity Australia to possibly force an external audit of the situation, though also to all levels of the media, media personalities, because having the situation blow up in the public eye, but also by an independent 3rd party, will definitely get the attention of the league itself.

As angry as I am, as much as I wish to rant on here with you all, that is just unproductive use of energy. Instead of kicking each others teeth in, in a fog of rage, maybe we could bond on this one, achieve something greater than the pack of muppets driving the club..... and feed it to the NRL itself.

Let's just wait to hear what Annesley says first.
