Manly Inclusive Pride jersey backlash

This Jersey saga is a total none issue compared to what happened to us on the weekend losing a game on one of the worst ref decisions in the game since 1908 and yet people are pushing this agenda , it’s a bloody disgrace
Try to be just a tad objective.
The Manly situation is a far bigger story.

Team coming last cops a howler - that’s been happening since year dot.

Really. Who are these people ? Where are they ? If you show them to me I would speak up against them.

This specific issue is about bigotry towards gay people and it's wrong. Religion is not an excuse. Religions need to change to adapt to societies standards.

My wife is Catholic and goes to church every week. My SIL and her family are basically fundamentalist Muslims.

I don't have a hatred towards religious people. I am supportive of people being religious. I don't care.

I can't though support Bigots.
It seems to me that that is exactly what you are.

He has a funny way of talking and I suspect he started boring himself by the end of it lol…
Des is a great man and should not have been the spokesperson for this ridiculous mess up.
Des can't have trouble getting to sleep because all he has to do is practise doing a presser 🥱😴
It appears that the problems with the front office passing the buck or nowhere to be found when things get tough is not limited to our club 🤔

It’s women in league week that is supposed to be celebrated, yes Women , mums daughters sisters , nothing to do with the gay community, so those who decided that this is the week to highlight inclusion need a kick in the backside
I think people have forgot that it was women’s week , nothing to do about the woke rainbow warriors. I think this is why a lot of people object to the woke rainbow warriors , they want it all about them , just go and live ur life what ever way u want no-one is allowed to question ur world I have gay friends who hate what they have done .

Not at all.

: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

We should be really clear on this. I am not against religion. I am not against Polynesians or Islanders.

I am supportive of people who are gay.

I'm the opposite of a bigot.

The bigots are really obvious here. They are not supportive of gay people.

My wife is Catholic and goes to church every week.

I have a good mate who is a white dude from New Zealand but I am pretty sure he is an evangelical Christian. I assume he has the same bigoted views towards gay people but it's never come up between us.

I also have extended family who are fundamentalist Muslims and we get along fine.

I'm not prejudiced. If you are against gay people then you are prejudiced.

My only point is that religion is not an excuse for bigoted viewpoints.

I thought that this presser should have been dealt with by their CEO or their chairperson.

But it seems like the Manly club threw the coach and captain into the lions den and said you can deal with it.

I also believe that many of the clubs coaches and captains would not have accepted this type of press conference therefore i must say that the way Hasler and DCE handled the situation was highly commendable

There is no CEO at present. It's a sad situation all round. This should have been co-ordinated NRL wide by dare I write it, the NRL.

He certainly shouldn't be doing what started out as merchandising and club PR so why run away and throw Des under the bus.

But these rainbow warriors are trying very hard to have FATHERS DAY remove to parent day , it’s all but woke shit , believe me they want to have everything there way
I don’t understand why we can’t also respect Mothers and Fathers? Why have they been replaced by “Birthing Parent”? When a child is born in the usual way, then surely there is a Mother giving birth?

I thought the jersey change was the owners idea, if that’s the case then he should be doing the explaining. The whole thing smells of Manly trying to knock us off the story for the week. What next? “tales of Manly town” doco?
I read an article where the jersey sponsor (for Eagles and Sharks) approached both clubs with this proposal. The Sharks declined on the basis it had enough jersey options. Hence the need for a co-ordinated approach under the umbrella of the NRL. This should come back on the NRL, not the Manly club.

They don't have a ceo currently

I feel this whole issue was handled poorly by the NRL. I think they should have been smart enough to ask all clubs to put a yes or no vote to their top 21 players , would you wear this jersey in a game for one round , blind ballot no names just a simple question with
yes or no , please circle one , then the NRL could have seen where the situation lays with the outcome , as some have said it would be more than 7 from Manly it could have been half the players , but my other concern is Ian Roberts still saying he wish he could sit down with these players and talk about it , well Mr Roberts some players don’t agree with it and should not need or be required to sit with you , they have there seasons end of story , if a gay man wants to play NRL we all know he is welcome to play , no issues , move on , Bloody game is now getting to political , sport should be free from political issues

Who are these woke rainbow Warriors you speak of and what have they got to do with manly?

I've only heard Ian Roberts comment... And. League journos

This is all about manly club and manly players....
