Manly Inclusive Pride jersey backlash

It's not the NRL. It's Manly. It's also a jersey supporting gay people who are a minority in society.

I don't get the argument against it at all.

This guy here is blaming it on colonization. He states prior to colonization pacific islanders were cool with gay relationships.

I reckon it's pretty bad in today's age that some people can't accept people who are gay. This is not stating people have to be gay. It's just stating give them some support rather than look down on them as sinners or bad people or something like that.
So, don't you think the Polynesians should be respected for their beliefs? Since the Manly players were not made aware of this jumper by the NRL don't you think the NRL is at fault for the same reasons the Wests tigers lost two by the NRL somehow finding a dubious rule that Wests Tigers and all NRL teams would not have been aware of?

In my opinion this is completely different. That was an atrocious display of referring and just as bad a cover up or whatever you want to call it after that. It was also from the NRL.

Manly have handled this terribly.
Manly have handled this very well because they have respected their own players beliefs.

So, don't you think the Polynesians should be respected for their beliefs?

Definitely not. Those views are abhorrent. That is like asking should you respect any viewpoint that is discriminatory.

There is no excuse for bigoted viewpoints within society.

Not at all.

It’s women in league week that is supposed to be celebrated, yes Women , mums daughters sisters , nothing to do with the gay community, so those who decided that this is the week to highlight inclusion need a kick in the backside
You know what , it also caught me by surprise, both days should be celebrated separately. shame to the NRL for letting this happen.

Hang your head in shame NRL. SHAME ON YOU.
BOTH the NRL and MW should be disgusted with themselves , forever and ever.

I didn't know that the real reason why the players were told not to go to the game was because the police advised them not to.
Why? Because of fans backlash and player safety, or not to further embarrass the front office?

I thought he spoke well...

Specifically mentioned its HIS opinion and he's speaking for HIMSELF only - not the club, the players, etc.

Said he wants everyone to feel loved, included, etc.

Good on him.
That’s all he can say, it’s not his home game, but supports the day, well said TR

I am confused. This Round is called The Women in League Round so Manly decide to whack a clear LGBTIQaBC+# message on their Jersey. Manly - so far from Bondi & Oxford Street! Pathetic.

Ron Casey struck a nerve with singer, Vietnam veteran and proud Monarchist Normie Rowe. While Rowe was expressing his personal point of view, Casey sarcastically responded and insulted his honour as a soldier, upsetting Rowe immensely.
They walked towards each other and Casey got the first punch in.
I remember old Casey saying in another interview that he was glad they were restrained, " I would've had a heart attack if I had to throw another punch. Rowe would've killed me". 🤣
It was "Won Casey"🤣
