Ciraldo Signs with Dogs

How’s this bloke….tells us he’s not ready yet and signs with Dogs on the same deal. Wanker.
He basically said you need an “experienced coach” to get you out of this.

It’s like when you tell a girl you don’t like that you’re not really ready for a relationship.

Does anyone think the doggies were in the background the whole time ? It’s gus Gould. He would have been planning this for 12 months or more. Trent and wests tigers were smoke screens and camouflage.

Since the super league days, I started following afl. Richmond tigers of course
In my opinion, we need to think strategically outside the circle. I believe we should look into recruiting and afl executive to a ceo level. The way treat junior development , school programs, their reach and marketing plans, cultures, and how they treat their players, fans, members, and their sport as a religion… would be a strategic strength.
Our current CEO has an AFL background.

CC probably believes that the window at parra closes this year, the only thing is i dont see any window opening at the dogs in the near future either
They've got kikau and mahoney joining them next year, theyre on the up for sure, maybe not top 4 but id put them into the top 8 next year

How many Panthers flegg/ nsw cup players will go to Bulldogs in the next few years, Bulldogs don't need a strong junior nursery right now, ciraldo knows every junior at penrith, they can't all hang around waiting, now have another opportunity, just go to the dogs.

Th

They have a better roster than us,however one would think Gould would be a problem.
When has Gould ever NOT been a problem for any coach he "manages". Impressive list of victims to date-Griffin, Cleary, Barrett-and absolutely zero reason to think he won't shaft Ciraldo as well if he can't consistently deliver success.

And Griffin got Panthers into the semifinals and then sacked him just before the finals started

Yea, but look at where the Dogs are at.
Ok I get it, We need an experienced coach. I don't know if Sheens is the man for the job but at least Sheens will bring in NRL basics for awhile.

Hastings and Stefano will learn something from him. Based off past history it means Stefano, Twal and Tamou will become awesome NRL Centers (old forum people may get this, Sheens got Gareth Ellis scoring tries).

The thing that struck me with Madge is he kept trying the same gameplan and the same tactics. We get our arse handed to us and next week, same happened on the field.

Shane Flanagan is one NRL coach that has taken a side from last to first. Ok Haslier did great at Manly, Bennett got the Knights off either last or near last, Fittler pushed Easts from last till almost making the finals.

Sheens recovered the Tigers from the Hopoate situation. Yet I look at the above and go:
Were not getting Bennett or Haslier*
Very doubtful were getting Fittler and I don't know if he right for us.
Flanagan maybe could do the work here that he did at the sharks.

I almost gave up on us when it was announced that Sheens, Farah and Benji were taking over. Lets see next year.

*yes people on our forum said no to haslier after he left the dogs...

CC is the highest rated newby coach coming through and deservedly so. He’s worth the gamble and the tigers were right to chase him hard.
But it’s a gamble, he’s had a massive great nursery at penwif, with lots of great talent coming through. It’s the easy way to look good with a great first grade team with tonnes off good juniors but that doesn’t translate to success with another team.
You can see why he went to the poodles compared to us, as they have recruited much better than we have. But as others have said that will mean they will want quick results and a lot of pressure will come his way if they don’t. Unfortunately Gould has handled this situation much better than sheens has, keeping tight lipped about the process is a much smarter way to play the game. But it’s hard as the blowtorch is on our club with the media, and is hard to avoid the scrutiny.
